Friday June 11th
Water garden. No one in at Resource Center, got into judge Myers files and found pics of John Jacoby’s cabin taken in 1923 by grandson Elias. So did a family file in Family Tree Maker through J. Wilbur Jacoby’s grandsons. Picked Mary J up and met Mary H at Perkins. Stopped at Meijer for dry eye drops, vitamin e, Oil of Olay Foundation, flat of begonias and more impatiens and some dusty miller. Looked at office furniture at Office Depot.
e-mails from Kathi, Dave and Kristi, none of them feel they would ever want to manage Hemmerly’s but Kathi will vote her stock as I want to. Call from David with same message. Made plans to go to Cincinnati Brass Band and Cincinnati Pops concert on Tuesday. (Not Thurs)

Have [shorthand] with Tom Frericks next Tuesday at 2:00 to draw up a purchase agreement. He said accept nothing but a cash sale. Paid bills. Checking account balance $12,000 and after paying estimated taxes etc. Jake Retterer stopped by to tell me to pick up slabs of stone and ask about digging tulip bulbs from Germany.
Send e-mails to all my descendants to get their opinion about selling Hemmerly’s Flowers.

Wednesday June 9th
Sorted out some books for Friends of Library sale. E-mail from Kathi telling that Bodie{dog] is no longer. Last straw was complaint from neighbors that he howled the whole time when they were gone. Poor dog. He was so loving. Don came about 12:15 and mulched bed by greenhouse. Then cleaned up some of the bulb foliage and started to level burned area across road but got into a yellow jacket nest. Mary Reynolds made a call for Pastor Booth. Assured me several times she was a Christian!
Watered tomatoes and all flower beds and hanging baskets. Mowed upper lawn. A bat is hanging under the spouting above the greenhouse.

Tuesday June 8th
Don cycleded(?) the bank below the prairie bed along lower driveway. Now I can see the pond. Also trimmed trees along river and the rose bushes and Euonymus from the bank by the gazebo. A tree frog perched on faucet by steps. To Dr Riego at 4:00- eyes okay but need new glasses. Shopped at Elder-Beerman for shorts home exhausted.
