Mother went uptown and came home with about 50 yards of print. I liked some of Grandma’s so went up and got me two pieces. So we’re sewing again. I wanted to go skating with Tommy and Jessie, but Daddy said if I went any place I had to go to Prayer meeting so I stayed home.

In bed all morning. Sick but a letter from Bob C [Cameron] thanking me for the picture and finally a card from Helen. Orlie Moiser brought a bushel of beans and lots of news about the man that killed his mother set everything afire then killed himself.

Wore my blue dress. It looks swellish. Up about 6:00. Got to Granville about 9:00. Went to the girls room and then to church in Swayze Chapel. I went to Sunday School. DePuy taught. Wonderful, as usual. Saw Gwen Lewis for a minute and visited Stone. Burtches and we went to Newark Mounds for dinner. Mary Burtch got me a date with +”Bill” and she had one with Gordon. Had lots of fun in the cemetery and walking railroad tracks.

Lonesome is no word. All hopes of going to Granville tomorrow with Harry have vanished. Mosied up to library after supper. Met Mrs. Epley and talked long time about Guild. Gee it seems nice to have someone to talk to. I was afraid my vocal cords had frozen.

Magazine man sold us an installment plan of American and Women’s Home Companion. Got a card from Pauline. We’re sewing around here like nobody’s business. Mrs. Burchette was over in the afternoon. Heard all of the dirt about the McIntyre divorce.

Mother and I went uptown. Bought print for me a blouse and the darlingest white skirt and pink bellhop jacket. Pique. Wore it to prayer meeting and everyone raved about how nice it looked. Mother got a white dress too. I just love it.

I’ll go dippy if I don’t get some entertainment quick. Cut out my dress. Read, baked cookies, started my rug, visit from Mary Y[illegible] but none of it excited me. Nite races in fairgrounds and wouldn’t the starting bugle remind me of the bugle that plays taps at Granville. Yes.

Well this looks like a dull week. Mary and Pauline at Assembly, Helen in Johnstown Pennsylvania and she hasn’t even written me and Doris Fogelson has been in Akron all summer. Went over to Burchette’s and got four patterns and some mag. Mother won’t let me stay in the house. Always dragging me out for something. 2 mag. boys and beets.
