On way to Shelby stopped to see the “Macon”. It looks bigger than “Akron”. Had dinner in park and then watched bathers. Met Bob Johnston Bruce’s brother. Ohh so tall. The three boys showed me their boat. Bru-Mer-Bob and then I played ball with them. Stopped at Luzon Grove Lake on way home.

Ripped my rug out and started again. It’s cool. You can at least get your breath. Had breakfast about 10:30 and then had another meal at 6:00. That’s their regular Saturday routine. Made some taffy in afternoon. Nearly got a blister pulling it. Another Lawn Fete in evening but was too cold to enjoy it.

Wrote cards to Mother, Mary Burtch and Pauline. Were going to an auction but didn’t. Made ice cream in evening. Aunt Sylvia was crocheting rugs and I learned how. I’m going to make one when I get home. Doris showed me some Caravans their school paper. Some good ideas in them. I wish I knew whether I’d have a chance to use them.

It’s hot here too now. Got and wrote a letter to Mary Burtch. About 4:00 Gertrude and Walter Bodley and our bunch went on a picnic at Lake Stafford. Went in swimming and then had hamburg. Lots of fun with the baby. But it was hot again when we got home.

Have my moile pajamas almost finished. Had homemade ice cream for supper. Took a ride in evening. 7 in that coach. Went to airport to watch 9:00 mail plane in from Pittsburgh. It takes 22 minutes to go from here to Cleveland. Some such light to Landon. So bright they have to make a shadow so it won’t blind the pilot.

Read a book through in the morning. After supper we (Doris, Agnes and I) went to the Rialto. Saw “Radio Control” and the “Strange Case of Clara Deane”. It surely lasted a long time. Akron’s coolness is a relief after Marion’s 95’s of last week.

S.S. then went after Mary Burtch. She’s through with her job. Went to get her after dinner to go to a picnic with Shirk’s. When I came back Chancey’s were there saying we could go to Akron with them. So with an hour’s notice we packed and landed at Aunt Sylvia’s about 9:00.
