Saturday August 28th
e-mail from Kathi they are home okay but both exhausted and Las Vegas heat getting them down.
To RC and finished copying Big Island Twp (2 copies)- stopped at Aldi’s for a few groceries and home about 5:30

Friday August 27th
To RC and George Hoffman and wife. She had called me about using Family Tree Maker. Had a nice chat and loaned them HemGen to study as a sample for their book. Richard Carrie in. Eula and Margaret are “after” Jane again. Don’t they realize how much she does for the small pay we give her? Picked up Mary J and met Mary H at Terradise and to Al’s Restaurant in Cardington for cube steak dinner. Stopped at Don Kyle’s on Salem Road on way home but no one home.

Thursday August 26th
Royce cleaning from 9:15 to 1:15 with 30 minutes out to update me on her soap opera life. Is that worth $40? Worked on 3D Home Architect trying to create new roofs for remodeling.

Wednesday August 25th
To Harding home at 1 p.m. for videotaping session with crew from C-SPAN- Haskell Metz age 92 there, but he didn’t contribute much. Then to Mary’s with tomatoes. Her car there but door locked and didn’t answer bell. She called me about 7:30- had gone to Columbus with Trinity group to see the new Mormon temple. Took Lu Carhart’s original letters back to Ruth Carhart and visited (at Kingston.) Also visited Isabel Scott who just moved there Tuesday. Mowed lawn.

Tuesday August 24th
Worked most of day trying to create roofs on 3D Home Architect. Ordered Family Tree Maker version 6 upgrade.
Tuesday August 24th Ray died 45 years ago today.
Cheryl Knapp of Orlando Florida called me from Caledonia Cemetery where she was hunting Rutherford Graves. I gave her directions to Terradise but she didn’t come over. I had called Maxine Marshall and she checked Caledonia Cemetery book for me so I had info Cheryl wanted.
Don Kyle here- trimmed and tied up tall coreopsis. Brought tomatoes. Call from Dave to get Huhn’s phone number where Bob and Kathi are tonight near Lebanon, Kentucky.

Monday August 23rd
Call from Kathi about 8 Elsie died at 1:30 a.m. at the hospice in Savannah just 10 hours after moving her there. To Columbus to meet Kass, Pete, Diane and Chris at Columbus Gift Show. Bought 2 gold necklaces and watering can fountains and a topiary. Lunch with them. Gary Oyler remembered me after 18 years!

Sunday August 22nd
David and I had walk in woods and prairie- picked apples- watched bumblebee fertilized pistols of Cleome. Then at computer. Taught me to transfer files to folders and to create a chart for Kensels tree study. Refused to use “Total 32 Home Architect” that he brought, but did connect Zip drive to old computer. Said he hadn’t learned Total. They left about 1 p.m. so Josh could pick up DeLorean at Radnor. Mary out to see them. Then she fed me dimensions from Terradise blueprints so I can enter in 3D architect.
Kathi called. Elsie moved to a hospice house. Nurse says probably a week to live. Talked to Bob. He sounded so weak. Melinda Gilpin called- asked me to come to Harding Home Wednesday at 1 p.m. for CNN taping of Harding memories to be aired September 20th.

Saturday August 20th [sic]
At RC collated tax maps pages. Harold Biggerstaff in. Took some of his info and showed him printouts from Family Tree Maker. Took taco Bell food to Mary’s. She’s had a Song Sparrow and House Finch at her bird feeder. Finished redding* up office. David Karen and Josh arrived about 9:00- Went over sales agreement with them- had conversation with Josh about HF&G. Kathi called from Hinesville Georgia- Elsie Sands, Bob’s mother still at home with hospice volunteer coming in. Not much longer to live.

*redding: colloquial term meaning cleaning up and organizing.
