Saturday September 18th Helen Romine died Miriam Stowe died Friday.
Anniversary 1926 hurricane at Ft Lauderdale. 2 couples in researching Wexstead and Noonan. Noonan Court created on Noonan land off Blaine Avenue. Showed them how to organize their material with Family Tree Maker. Called to see if Helen was able to see me and hospice gal said she was in a coma and her brother was with her so I didn’t go over. Margaret Ann called me about 9 saying she died about 7:30 – 86. Took JVC video camera back as David thinks I should buy a Sony digital $600 to $800- Stopped at Country Inn new motel open 3 weeks ago and left a note for Bob Farrell to call me when he gets in from Bloomington Indiana tomorrow.

Thursday September 16th
Spent all morning trying to create a gable roof on new room using 3D Home Architect after redoing entrance area for Scott. Don Keil here from 12:30 to 4 clearing off in front of and behind rail fence along river. Now I can see the river. Called Sarah to thank her for a nice card. She was impressed that I’ll be on C-Span. Good chat likes her classes has over 100 music students. Her principal is from Paris. Final episodes of “An American Love Story” lot of Marion footage.

Wednesday September 15th
Bath and washed hair. Fed birds, breakfast, watered plants, checked e-mail Kathi and Bob home last night. Wrote to Thelma and Gene Hemmerly and sent new material on Hemmmerlys. Wrote article on Resource Center for Kurt Moore follow-up story on ALS- took it to Star and met Kurt. To Haupt monument and got price on Hemmerly marker $700 plus tax plus $30 delivery. To NuSupply and picked up carpet samples. Picked Mary up and to Tim Hortons for sandwich and cappuccino. To Meijer and picked up three prescriptions $60! Premarin, Fosamax & Celebrex. Home about 7 watched Marion episodes of “American Love Story.” Bill returns to Marion- his son by Connie sentenced for drug-dealing. Church choir with Lois singing solo really great- then Bill pontificates with “No black culture in Marion”- Bill Sims Sr. mentions agent orange at Marion Engineer Depot and dumping barrels.
David called in midst of this -Josh didn’t make OSU marching band fifth try got perfect scores until tonight twisted ankle and couldn’t finish. Got no medical attention!

Tuesday September 14th
Letter from Bob Farrell- C-SPAN hosting him and Lila at new motel. They’re coming in Sunday p.m.- article in Star about C-SPAN being here next Monday. Reworked investment policy and Terradise Nature Center Endowment Fund policy. Watched 3rd episode Chancey at 12 has first (and only) date. Cecily with sorority sisters at Colgate.
Larry Ballinger here to measure for new picture window that is dandy $385 (Erma H told me hers was $240!) Install in 3 weeks.

Sunday September 12th
Called David so sorry I won’t hear him play 1812 overture etc with Cincinnati Brass Band and the Cincinnati Symphony. Picked Mary up at 4 met Willis Thomas at Green Camp Prairie to check out plants. He hiked to end to check out culvert. It’s still there but but eroded. Great to see 25 species. To Mary’s for a bath and then to Pete and Kass’s house for catered dinner. 32 there party for 18 years as a designer. Home at 9 to see “American Love Story”

Friday September 10th
Transferred photos of Green Springs and Log Cabin Program to computer and printed out collages and individuals. Kensel C called with news that he had found 25 species growing on Green Camp railroad prairie (my gift to MCHS) he and Bob Harter had sowed prairie seed over past 3 years- half of them blooming now. Kensel still mining 1846 tax maps. At Resource Center received call from Richard Rinker of Elon College North Carolina seeking descendants of George Christian Rinker. And call from John Baker of Cleveland- descendant of Eber Baker. He will come down to RC. Sent Rinker info from 1883 and 1907 Marion County histories. Chris Monnier called with info on airing of “An American Love Story” on PBS starting soon. Told me of full page on it in September 5th New York Times art section. Call from Kurt Moore who writing story for Marion Star
To Perkins with two Mary’s. Chatted with Doctor Whitehead and Florence Cosgrove who lived behind us on Park Street. Sent email encouraging Josh on OSU marching band tryout (he didn’t make it for the fifth time!)

Thursday September 9th
Kathi and Bob’s wedding anniversary. They will spend the night at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas. Royce cleaning and redding up. Me watering. Spent morning redoing floor plan and 3D shots- mailed to him.[?who?] Waited for Don K to help plant order of perennials but didn’t hear him ring. He left tomatoes. HH at 3:30 and took aloe and echeveria for flea market. Bought a rose picture. Didn’t stay for parade- was exhausted.
