Trella Hemmerly – 1999-10-03

Sunday October 3rd day 1
Packed up records in boxes. Also cassette tapes. Moved most of furniture out of TV room. The house is a mess. Up at 7 a.m. still Dawn. Scott Crum and his workers (Fred Sr and Fred Jr Crist) at 7:30 and the huge dumpster was delivered soon after. Into HH at 10 to meet Stuart Browne. His cousin from Galion Robert McNeal also came. I photographed the McNeal – Fairfield – Wallace – Busby photo album pages with digital camera. Hundreds of pix. They took me to lunch at Maury’s on Main Street. When I got home the whole superstructure was torn off.

Trella Hemmerly – 1999-10-02

Saturday October 2nd
To Nicholls Furniture to check out entertainment centers- none suitable but found a Lane recliner in green and a lamp with table. Will hold until remodeling is finished. To HH- RC girl in from Powell researching Hecker and Haust? She bought a DBY. I copied Salt Rock and Grand township. Two copies. Took Wendy’s Bacon Hamburger, salad and frosty to Mary’s. Shopped at Aldi’s. Watched “Philadelphia Story” on TV- Katharine Hepburn, Gary Grant and Jimmy Stewart when they were young. Call from David won’t be up as he’s trying to get his house painted all by himself- what did his two boys do all summer?
Call from Kathi- She and Bob flew over to San Diego today to visit Dave and Johanna. She has bronchitis and her lens implant left her not seeing well

Friday October 1st
To NuSupply and paid $350 down on 633 Bordeaux carpet. To Palace and checked out leg room in balcony. Okay so got two tickets for Irish dance program October 14th. To HH- Mary Jo Baker in and Jan and Rosemary Boblenz running Huber newsletter.Alice Galloway in researching Elizabeth Ruehrmund (first of two graduates of Marion High School) for cemetery tour. Took Eleanor Hawkins jacket to her. To Kensel Clutter’s to pick up 1846 tax maps so I can copy them. Scott Crider (a Carroll Neidhart clone) out for information to plan a color scheme for Terradise. Took digital camera shots and printed out for him. Card from Norman Anderson (Raleigh North Carolina) and classmate Jeanette Evans (Sacramento California) who saw me on C-Span.

Thursday September 30th
To Senior Center at 12:30 to talk on “Changes in Marion Streets” only about 10 there for programs- others opted to play cards including Rosella Pickens Neighbors still chipper at 93 and pretty! Picked Mary up and to Kenton Marble and Granite company they want $775 for Hemmerly marker that Haupt priced at $700- Stopped at Paul N. Hemmerly’s for his okay he was going to call me for sizes tonight! Mary and I ate at Tim Hortons- home and to bed by 9

Trella Hemmerly – 1999-09-29

Wednesday September 29th
Piddled. Rain 1 ½” most at one time since April. Temperature fell from 72° to 49° in an hour. Letter from Erving Beauregard (Professor emeritus of history at University of Dayton) with copy of his letter to Brian Lamb of C-SPAN protesting the follow-up C-SPAN program on Harding. Wrote him asking for permission to forward to Marion Star. Also sent article on “Abstracts of Title” to Marion Online.
