Thursday June 9th 1932
Up at 5:15. Mrs. Epley’s for a meeting for a picnic. Only six came so we went around and gathered up two more. Went back of Zachman’s then played ball. Got home in time to take a bath and go to church for faculty of V.B.S. meeting. Incidentally got a Klondike from the Cradle Roll Party. Mary Burtch and I went play that Mary was in and she is staying all night.

Wednesday June 8th 1932
Aunt May and Miles came about 2:00. Mother and I made calls for Cradle Roll party tomorrow afternoon. All went to Grandma’s for supper. Met Mary Burtch at prayer meeting and went with her to buy a birthday card for Bernard Brooks. Quite a job. All too sentimental or too prosaic.

Tuesday June 7th 1932
Mother fooled me into getting up at 7:45. Oh dear. The Canterbury Bells are beginning to bloom. Tre Jolie. Junior guild meeting. Formal initiation at church. New members kneeled at picture of Christ with candles. Picnic Thursday.

Monday June 6th 1932
H.W. and I went to see Greta Garbo in “As You Desire Me”. Peculiar plot.

Sunday June 5th 1932
I bawl G.P. out, he sits beside me and P.C. gets mad. I make up to B.B. to find out M.B.’s chance and she gets sore. What are you supposed to do.

Saturday June 4th 1932
Don’t ever try to buy your dad a pair of shoes! I took him three pair and then had to go back for the money. Was bored stiff until Mary came down. Went down there for a little. Neva treated us at Islay’s. Walked home then. My feet feel like they’re cracked. Mary here all night.

Friday June 3rd 1932
Poor Mary cried herself to sleep she thinks Bernard Brooks and she have quit. I’ll bet Pauline cried to sleep too. Why did Bernard Brooks have to stuck get stuck on Doris. Mary or I neither slept much. Then got up at 6 to take Mr. Burtch to country. Mary brought me home around noon. Picked Bernard Brooks up. Slept all p.m. Took flowers and hanky to my butterfly sister (her birthday). Went down to Mary Burtch’s to get all my pink. Neva home for summer.

Thursday June 2nd 1932
Finished most of the plan in the morning. I went uptown at noon down to M. & P. & J.’s home and there was Glenn. He stayed until we went to Mary’s to meet. It almost rained. Helen and Melvin went ahead and Ivan and Orly drove 21 mules to get 7. Loads of fun with Pauline around the campfire but Glenn acted up. Bob was sweet to me. Ivan got us root beers. Bob and Bernard Brooks came in at Mary’s. I stayed all night.

Wednesday June 1st 1932
Phoning galore for the picnic. Jessie asked us down there for chili supper and dad and I went to prayer meeting.

Tuesday May 31 1932
Guild meeting at Woods. Installation of officers. We decided for our gang to have a picnic Thurs. Took Mary & Nita & Pauline Home. P. is all thrilled about yesterday & Sun with Glenn.
