S.S. Leila Clingles for dinner. Scott & Nora hot [sic]. Home in time for B.Y. & church.

Saturday June 18 1932
While Mary & I were at Griffith to fix my hair mother called saying I couldn’t go. So that’s that. You should have seen the while family shining the car. -For chocolate drops. While up town in eve. Met Mary & decided to go to the show with her. Terribly dumb. The Palace is closing for a while.

Friday June 17 1932
Haven’t found out yet whether I’m goint or not. Guild attended Miss King’ s funeral in P.M. & then I did some shopping in case I do go. Hose, dress, pants, anklet. Mary came down to stay all night. Jessie gave me a little waist. Put with my old green shontung & J’ai une neaveau robe. [sic]

Thursday June 16 1932
Went to Mary B.’s for dinner. Mother came rushing down saying that maybe I would get to go to Somerset with Pauline F [Fetter] & Helen S. {Sheneman} GOt a cute pink & white mesh dress. M.B., her mother , mine & I went to see Miss King. She looked so natural. Mary came up here for a while & then I took her home.

Wednesday June 15 1932
Helen King died this morning. Clara had to take Rhea’s place & I had to take full charge of our class. Kids were restless & I was worn out by quitting time. Rested in afternoon & I practisec music to play to morrow. No one else can play at all.

Tuesday June 14 1932
I made 20 pts of jam while mother was uptown in P.M. Went to church for W.W.G. picnic. All went to Powelsons. Kath Thoma & Marguerite had their boys’ friends but not for long. I felt & acted silly. The girls came down for a while afterwards. I wonder if Phil Boyd knows Ruth Owen.

Monday June 13 1932
First day of Bible School. Clara Gillan & I have 14 – 7 boys & 7 girls. 8-9. They are surely cute & smart, too. The butterfly came out of the cocoon. It surely is big. I went to Alines’ for berrys [sic] in the evening. & then down to Woods to take her stuff home. Took Mary B. with me. You should see the story I started.

Sunday June 12 1932
The church was beautiful for children’s day. Lattices, roses, lilies. Mary Burtch came home with us for dinner & we went to O’Shaunessy [sic] dam to see the monkeys, lions, deers [sic], bears, tigers etc. Got home just in time for me to lead at B.Y. Nita took me for a ride during church & afterwards Glenn & I had an awful quarrel & mother says I have to sit with them.

Saturday June 11 1932
Walked home. Helped finish my dress. Got marie [sic] ribbon for it & some indelible rouge in evening. Pauline was over. I stayed up till about 12 getting B.Y. lesson. Mary was up in afternoon & Nita for a minute in the evening.

Friday June 10th 1932
Took Mary Burtch home and got dress. Rice cloth. Got it about 1/2 made in afternoon. Helen called and asked if I would like to play tennis with her and William and Melvin Stonebreaker. We played on Lafayette Street and then took a little ride. Got root beer. Went out past Rainbow Gardens and while turning around in Garfield Park the car stalled. Finally got pulled into Stony — & then walked to Helen’s. I stayed there all night.
