George Dodds finished hall & living room ceiling. I moved things back into bedrooms & washed windows. David stopped & put things in attic. Nice day but I wasn’t out much.

George Dodds painting. Gave talk on flower arranging at Welcome Wagon Newcomers Club at Y. Tired me greatly. County men cutting honey locust so they can dump.
First toads singing – none in my pond.

Tuesday, April 21, 1970
George Dodds out to paint bedrooms. Had to patch Kathi’s room ceiling. To work at noon. Jack Tozzer in to see if they can dump dirt from grading across the road.

Rainy & cold. 50 degrees. Ironed curtains. Washed hair. To Mary’s for dinner. Rocky got mad because I couldn’t answer “Are these any different than those”. Wrote to Wilda & Manny.

Saturday, April 18, 1970
Too much yesterday – no pep today. Ask Kent to do 7:30 wedding & I came home at 2:30. Not much doing at shop. David stained deck. To bed at 6:30.

Picked first daffodils.
In to Dr. Vornholt’s for cleaning teeth. Dick Straub in for Gold Medal Christmas buying. Astronauts “splashed down” safely at 1:07. To “Al’s Restaurant” with Brooks & Jordans. Here for ice cream.

Thursday, April 16, 1970
Ruth Mulvaine out to clean. Such a relief to get the house somewhat in shape. Hostess with Bernice Thompson at Quest Club – Ice cream molds. David moved spruce from Maine.

Hobart has another kitten!
Still no pep. In to work at 1:00. Worked on Mother’s Day orders. Home at 4:00. David filled pool & back flushed filter & some cleaning in Garage. Karen & he for supper.

Tuesday, April 14, 1970
Wrote Howard [Howser] . To work at 11:00 – Fanny & Floy in. They’ve been married 50 years. To Altrusa potluck. David in court for 65 mph in 50 zone. Dashboard lights were out. Astronauts hit & heading home without moon landing.
