Friday February 1st
Cold- to 18- hope grapefruit didn’t freeze. After breakfast Ann & two-year-old came and took us to John’s plant- make walk-in refrigerators. Then to their lovely home along Caloosa river near Pell City. Started North about 11 and got to Murfreesboro about 3:30. Pat had called at 2 and Lil called back and made arrangements for Pat to come get her. They have gave us a tour of her Museum and I had rolled stuffed chicken breasts for dinner. Fresh coconut cake. This is lucky so pleasant. She made Buttermilk Biscuits cut with condensed milk can cutter her mother gave her. Tommy had class in Nashville and got home about 9. Lil and Pat left after supper. Slept under Samuel Bakers 1841 coverlet which they bought from Fanny and Floyd for $300.
