Tuesday October 8th 1935
Bill went to Logan and I had to see that a shipment of laces from National got on a hand truck so I was a little late getting to Aunt May’s. Such a good supper. Then Floy and I went to the Placque shop. Got some the daguerotypes[sic] like I made D and Wilda.* Home about 9:30 and talked until 11:30.

Sunday October 6th 1935
Sunday school Bob Johnson invited us out this p.m. Got dinner for Daddy and Walt. Mother and Mary at Aunt Lillie’s with everyone else for dinner. Bernard Brooks came after Walt and I about 2. Got Rosina and then to Burtch’s. Mary beginning to look rather big all around. She asked us if Bernard Brooks had told us she was pregnant. Had lunch there and then all six of us went to BY. Bob and Mary up to our house afterwards. We took them home about 10:30.
They are truly happy even without anything but each other.

Up about 9 and fooled around until noon. Worked on budget. Walt, Daddy and I went to garden after dinner. Dug glad bulbs and cut corn. Beautiful day. Bathed- supper. Walt and I went over to Grandma’s to see Uncle Jim. Uncle Allen and family there too. Home about 9:30 wanted to go to midnight show but Daddy wouldn’t let us. So Wally just loved me.

Mr. Shelton’s new car dandy- sedan. He drives 60 in it. Only about 50 in the other one.
Stopped on way home and got Wally a birthday card.
Mrs. Davis doesn’t like me to move my bed because it’s mars the floor—–!
Guess I’ll try to get the white on my quilt in the next couple weeks- and so to bed.

Sunday September 29th 1935
Sunday school- Walt, Bernard Brooks and I went into R&J class with all the old maid maids and bachelors- Sunday school and church combined- little kids put on the program. Gave me a headache. Went to Uncle Hen’s this afternoon. Mary only one home. Ate apples. Daddy killed a rat. Inspected her garden. Home to pick our tomatoes afraid of frost- got about 4 bushels of half ripe ones and melons. After BY Rosina and Bernard came down. Discussed finances.
