Sunday March 10th 1935
Up at 9:30. Took bath after breakfast. Folks got here about 11:00 and we all went to Aunt May’s for dinner. Mary brought me some good fudge.
I got sick headache in the afternoon so didn’t enjoy myself much.
Left grandma at Aunt May’s & Mrs. Haldeman went home with Daddy’s.
Slept my headache off and went to church in the rain.
Wally and I went to Fireside and he brought me home.

They all make fun of my whistling at work. I met Wally at 2 and we went shopping. Got enough pieces to finish my quilt, a rose sweater and rose material for a spring dress.
Have all the pieces cut for my quilt now- the flowers I mean.
Mrs. Haldeman came in while I sewed. Made two and a half blocks.
And so to bed.

Got started MJ Motor Freight this morning. About 400 bills (2 weeks almost.) to match- staple- stamp- check with B/L & rate and run tapes on.
Walt came down at 7 and visited his mother until 7:30 then we went to see Joan Crawford, Clark Gable and Robert Montgomery in “Forsaking All Others.” I was afraid Clark wouldn’t get his girl but he did.
Walt didn’t come in.

The toast smelled so good when I came down and Aunt May had packed my lunch. Quite a change from what I’ve been used to.
The weather is perfect. I wish I lived close enough to walk home or and 1/2 miles is too much.
Wally down. He visited his mother upstairs and I sewed downstairs.
Loaned her my lamp and slippers. She’s not feeling so well.

Stopped at the Boston Store for some green peter pan on way to Aunt May’s. Saw some Robins on way there.
Started joining my quilt and I think it’s going to be a mess. Floy popped corn and I had a general good time like I always do. Stayed all night.

Went to Shelby this afternoon. I drove home. And Sylvia and Uncle Perry at Scott’s when we got home.
Took Walt’s clothes to Kehrweckers and Mrs Kehrwecker showed me some quilts she’s doing. Beautiful.
Aunt Sylvia & Uncle Perry up for the evening. Had popcorn.

Missed the 1:00 bus by about 2 minutes so went to Cleo’s for lunch and then met Wally. He was to meet his mother and she suggested I ride back with Martha. Took Mrs. Haldeman to Davis’s where she’s going to stay. Got home about 6. Had my haircut. I would just when it’s long enough to do up. Got $0.30 worth print at Uhler’s.

So I worked on quilt.
Wally met the streetcar tonight and gave me some peanuts in the shell.
Quite a mess. All the motor freight to do today. It doesn’t pay to be off.
