Trella Hemmerly – 1935-11-21

Thursday November 21st 1935
Mary’s baby was born yesterday afternoon. Wally sent me a special. Baby weighs 5 lb and is in the incubator.
From Wally’s letter I don’t know whether he is coming down or I’m going home. Wrote him and mailed It about 7:00.
Listened to Rudy Vallee program.
Grandma is staying at our house now and Aunt Lillie’s are coming for the weekend so well he will probably come down to avoid the rush.

Finished letter to Wally this noon. Told him I would like to stay down here this weekend. I hope he agrees.
They fixed my typewriter so it doesn’t stick. Simple if you know how.
Bill had me make up copies filled out of all the forms we use. He thinks it’s to show the big shots how good we are. He is, I mean.
I’m putting green down side of strips now. Bath- Bed 9:30

Up 8:30. To Kissel to finish filing my tooth. Walt and I both banked $10 a piece at the National City Bank & Trust. Miss Snodgrass gave me some wrappers for my pennies. Ohio State beat Illini 6-0. All five of us went to Bindley’s for turkey dinner. Really very nice. Walt, Mary and I skipped out to see “Rendezvous” -William Powell & Rosalind Russell. Walt and I didn’t get to bed until 2:00. Mary Burch Johnson here all afternoon- started up town in the rain.

Felt rotten this morning. Had a terrible night but got through the day ok. Cleaned up all the drawers in my dresser tonight- brushed my clothes. I can take up more time just doing things around my room.
Showed Laura my birthday gifts tonight and she showed me her wedding dress. Blue velvet with metallic trim.
