Friday June 11th
Water garden. No one in at Resource Center, got into judge Myers files and found pics of John Jacoby’s cabin taken in 1923 by grandson Elias. So did a family file in Family Tree Maker through J. Wilbur Jacoby’s grandsons. Picked Mary J up and met Mary H at Perkins. Stopped at Meijer for dry eye drops, vitamin e, Oil of Olay Foundation, flat of begonias and more impatiens and some dusty miller. Looked at office furniture at Office Depot.
e-mails from Kathi, Dave and Kristi, none of them feel they would ever want to manage Hemmerly’s but Kathi will vote her stock as I want to. Call from David with same message. Made plans to go to Cincinnati Brass Band and Cincinnati Pops concert on Tuesday. (Not Thurs)

Thursday June 10th
Kass at[sic] Pete Mattimore out at 10:30 to talk about selling Hemmerly’s Flowers. Had approached Diane Zacharias Corea and she is interested with backing from her father. Have [shorthand] with Tom Frericks next Tuesday at 2:00 to draw up a purchase agreement. He said accept nothing but a cash sale. Paid bills. Checking account balance $12,000 and after paying estimated taxes etc. Jake Retterer stopped by to tell me to pick up slabs of stone and ask about digging tulip bulbs from Germany.

Wednesday June 9th
Sorted out some books for Friends of Library sale. E-mail from Kathi telling that Bodie{dog] is no longer. Last straw was complaint from neighbors that he howled the whole time when they were gone. Poor dog. He was so loving. Don came about 12:15 and mulched bed by greenhouse. Then cleaned up some of the bulb foliage and started to level burned area across road but got into a yellow jacket nest. Mary Reynolds made a call for Pastor Booth. Assured me several times she was a Christian!
Watered tomatoes and all flower beds and hanging baskets. Mowed upper lawn. A bat is hanging under the spouting above the greenhouse.

Tuesday June 8th
Don cycleded(?) the bank below the prairie bed along lower driveway. Now I can see the pond. Also trimmed trees along river and the rose bushes and Euonymus from the bank by the gazebo. A tree frog perched on faucet by steps. To Dr Riego at 4:00- eyes okay but need new glasses. Shopped at Elder-Beerman for shorts home exhausted.

Watered and mode crossroad. Don Kyle didn’t show up. Had tried to call me but I was on internet still trying to learn how to save pics!

Sunday June 6th hot 92 degrees turned on air conditioner.
worked on pictures on computer. Worked outdoors from about 8 till dark 9:15 p.m. fertilize flowers with miracle grow. Mary out for supper of ham, bean salad, rhubarb, strawberry shortcake.

Saturday June 5th
Sorted boxes of donations at RC took chicken to Mary’s for supper. Dave Hempstead and Kathy came about 7 and burn brush pile crossroad and the trash pile near house what a relief think the sycamore tree across the road will be a casualty.

Friday June 4th
Send birthday cards to Bob and Tony with $50 in each. At resource center after depositing dby $135 checks at United Bank and hemmerly’s bonus $6,300 at Marion Bank. Jane helped me accession more than our material from Warren Sawyer. Met Mary at something good and used gift certificate from prospect gardeners. Mary j not up to join us. Drew floor plan of remodeling of TV room.

Thursday June 3rd
Royce cleaning. Dave hemstad called saying roof at 229 East fairground and tearing off inside wall board estimate 900 to $1,200. Made computer birthday cards for Bob and Tony but Don Kyle showed up before I got them mailed. He had picked up 20 bags pine mulch for me at Dave and Dave metlers. Garden club of Marion project. Put nine bags on lower terrace around hosta. Pruned around upper Deck. Wisteria and euonymus. After he left I mowed lower lawn and in woods. Vegetation already 3 feet high. Watch travels in Europe Bavaria and Austria and this old House.

Wednesday June 3rd
Mary came out and got green camp pictures and took to heritage Hall for display. Set out ceiling alyssum from heritage Hall last year. Also transplanted Cleo May to new hasta bed. Showers but finally dry enough to mow. But mowers seemed to run hot to hutch men’s at 4 to see bills pressed specimens about five hundred gathered for his master’s degree in Western Pennsylvania in 1930 through 1941. Nice supper, showed me Wallace nutting prints inherited from Bill’s Aunt. To farm fleet for fertilizer. Done didn’t show up with mulch.
