Sunday December 26th
Pancakes and tiny links breakfast. To Marion to buy stereo CD and cassette player. Bought Sony at Sears with January 19th delivery. Sarah & Dave arrived while we were gone and David and Sarah skated on pond. Gift opening and lasagna dinner. Nice cozy day. They left about 7.

Saturday December 25th
Good thing Haldeman’s delayed Christmas a day because I spent the day wrapping presents and last-minute chores. Mary was out in PM and opened her presents. My Blennerhassett Mansion picture is still at Lovell’s for framing- Mary’s gift to me. Haldemans arrived about 10 and really complimentary on remodeling and redecorating.

Friday December 24th
Found a package left by Sissons- it was one of his wood carved pictures. A Mallard in a pond with cattails and mountains. Gorgeous. Finished Christmas letter, renaming it a New Year’s letter and printed copies for Sisson and Ruth Carhart. Made up packets for them to decorate rosemary tree for Kass and Sissons. Into Marion at 4 and picked up Mary. Long John Silver’s about only place open so ate there. Then to Sissons and to Trinity for Christmas Eve service. Music and scripture woven around a family setting up creche. Drove north of route 423 to see Delmar and Mary Claire Brewer’s lights. Gorgeous. Driveway outline clear to barn in field 50 foot trees covered with lights. Everyone (nearly) has icicle lights this year dripping from eaves. Home by 9 and watched Frank Patterson video of Ireland with his singing.

Thursday December 23rd
Last-minute shopping at Lowes. Poinsettia and wreaths @ $1 live juniper and rosemary trees. So many ends tied up in one day. Mary and I led Haupt’s truck to Jackson Center cemetery where driver unloaded the Conrad and Margaret Hemmerly marker and rolled it to base prepared by Paul N., Beryl and Vernon Hemmerly. Paul and June and Dick Messenger met us and we all froze in wind chill of zero temperature 26 degrees. To Paul’s to warm up and for cookies and coffee. And while I was gone carpet layer’s came and finished closet carpet. Matt and Al Sisson came and put new top on photo cabinet in TV room. New finish on coffee table and panel in air conditioner hole in my bedroom. Stopped and Hutchmans with rosemary tree.

Wednesday December 22nd
Gatchell gutterman finished installing on deck side of TV room. Royce here for an extra day of cleaning. Mary brought out first 70 pages of Hemmerly’s Flowers and Gifts corporate book that she made two copies of and I gave her the rest to copy. Call from Jack Haupt. We’ll meet tomorrow at store and new Conrad Hemmerly marker will follow me to Jackson Center cemetery. Alerted Paul N. Hemmerly and June Messenger. Called Kenny and Anne Hemmerly declining invite to their family gathering tomorrow. Started opening Christmas cards.

Tuesday December 21st
Don Keil here. Installed Venetian blinds and cut carpet and put up pictures underlayment scrap to fit in station wagon. Kass out with letter copy to Diane Corea about closing. Had her sign some minutes in corporate book. Put strings of angel lights on tree. Down spouting put on by Gatchells. Matches siding.

Monday December 20th
Parsell’s office at 4 with Kass and Pete for final rundown on closing of sale of Hemmerly;s. Gave me corporate book to copy and letters for Kathi and David to be signed.

Sunday December 19th
Dave is 32! To Lowes and checked bought Mark 1 Levolor blinds. They are cordless (pull up and down) and not like the ones in brochure that had me worried.

Saturday December 18th
To Heritage Hall and tried to accession items I had taken in but couldn’t figure out Past Perfect[software]. Mailed bicycle trip to Dave and checked books at Maloney’s. Shopped at Sears and bought an 18” red velvet Santa. Black slacks and navy top at Sears. Venetian blinds delivered.

Friday December 17th
Made chili and had 2 Mary’s here for supper since Sissons wanted to deliver closet unit and daddy’s walnut drop leaf table about 4. So 2 Mary’s got in on that excitement. We had eggnog in front of fire in fireplace and watched them work.
