Saturday May 15th
No one in for research at Resource Center so I got the books from Charlton Myers estate on the shelves which meant sorting his whole collection. Richard Carey in. Says he will get RC computer hooked up to internet. Took Famous Chicken boxes to Mary for supper. Checked her e-mail since she hadn’t since May 5th!
Picked up my green cloth bag (used as purse) at Meijer I left it in shopping cart yesterday.

Friday May 14th
Gardened- set out rest of impatiens- to HH- Timmons & Anderson of MAGS there. Man from Tenn on Stockwell family and girl from Cleveland researching.
Picked up Mary J and to Perkins to meet Mary H for supper. Shopped at Meijer and left my green cloth bag in shopping cart. Called them and they had it! Not only my wallet but also the asparagus!

Thursday May 13th
Call from Bob Whitman 8:15 inviting me to be his guest at noon Kiwanis meeting where he will speak on Jim Thorpe. Nice luncheon and when he started to introduce me all of the men at our table said oh we know Trella. Bob gave me credit in his talk for making his book “Jim Thorpe and the Oorang Indians” possible and told of the opportunities it brought him and meeting people he wrote about.
At 1:30 met the Clutters at Ridgedale School parking lot. Kensel gave a talk on his WWII experiences and we headed for Hardin County and Lawrence Woods 1000 acre ODNR site with a mile of plastic boardwalk. Spotted 40 kinds of wild flowers and trees were 150 ft tall- rainy but we didn’t care. Then to their house (via the Shawnee-Sandusky trail) to see next version of Sandusky plains 1819 map the 54 inch by 54 inch format- needs a few changes. Opal had a nice supper and gave me a package of fresh cut asparagus.
To Morral Firehouse for meeting called by Louis Conkle to plan for the 4th of July reading of Seclaration of Independence. Charlton’s family group will carry on his tradition.
Call Ted Frericks and gave him names of members of Jay Wilbur Jacoby family who may help him find descendants to clear title to land still in JWJ name!

Wednesday May 12th
Planted Azalea, Meteor sedum and part of Summer Fragrance hosta and Diamond Tiara hosta by the side porch steps temporarily.
Darren and Jenny out with Minister and they ran into mosquitoes by the pond.
call from Dave they are back from Puerto Vallarta swim with dolphins and scuba dived.

Tuesday May 11th
To Dr. Bailey for throat speaking problem- aging vocal cords.
Don Keil here and sprayed terrace beds in and front bank for weeds while I mowed lawn. He told raised-bed across the road and I planted tomato and pepper plants. Davey tree crew cleared area Cross Road and Don finished by cutting multiflora Rose.

Sunday May 9th mother’s day
Mary out about 1 too much noise from apartment above her. I planted the morel spore that the Cummins of Fulton left on porch Friday. She had called me from promised it to me a couple of years ago. If I added some by gazebo and some by wildflower bed by pond. Fried pork chops and had the asparagus June and dick brought. Call from David talk to Josh about designing new TV room.

Saturday May 8th
Mailed him Gen 2 Lynn library on their request. Put page in with him early ancestors and Joseph him early family. To RC but no one in. Found more good stuff in judge Myers files.

Friday May 7th
2 HH. Mary Jo Baker there for genealogy society. disgust lack of staffing a resource center by genealogy people. She cleaned the rooms. I got books from upstairs library on genealogy that belong in RC and accession them. Lovely plant basket from Kathy and Bob here when I got home.

Thursday May 7th [sic]
Dave hemstad and helper removed old industrial window from rec room and installed thermopane window. No screens. No openings $425 Kathy came and painted around it. Royce cleaned.
Mary out about 2 when we expected June and Dick messenger but they didn’t tell 4:30.
car trouble with alternator June couldn’t walk but her sister-in-law and daughter June and Sally enjoyed the garden. June brought up asparagus and cheese spread. I baked brownies and serve them even though they were here through suppertime leaving about 7: 00
Talk to Dave Hempstead about remodeling TV room.
