Sunday April 24 1938
Coolish & cloudy-
Snagged my hose terribly at Sunday School– Ruined.
Daddy’s garden coming nicely. Glads up about 6 inches- peas- beets and spinach – all up.
Fiddled the afternoon away. Walt & I went over to our house & measured the living room floor exactly & I drew a picture to scale.
Decided definitely that Walt & I will be married at Trinity on Saturday June 18. Made tentative plans this P.M. & after BY told Rev. Wood to save that date. Walked home & so to bed.

Saturday April 23 1938
Mary & I swept the upstairs of my house good. Now it’s ready for cleaning.
Walt & I went uptown. The new Montgomery Ward store opened yesterday. I bought print for a dress – or gandy for Mary’s bridesmaid dress.
Walt tried to persuade me to go to see “In Old Chicago” but I was tire – so we stayed home & figured things.
Street car strike settled yesterday.

Friday April 22 1938
The whole family of us went out to BBB’s tonight. We had pop corn (popped by Walt & served in sauce dishes) – then took time exposure of their wedding presents.
Home to bed.
The family likes the 3.10 carpet – the green flower design.

Thursday April 21 1938
Went to Bigelow-Sanford warehouse to look at carpets. They have a grand display room. Luscious carpet & indirect lighting. He didn’t show me as many patterns as at Schaffners. Gave me three samples to take hom as I couldn’t decide by myself.
Bridge club tonight at Mary Williams. I got booby prize.

Wednesday April 20 1938
Up & waited about 15 minutes for a ride. First on Neil & then over to High St. Had coffee & roll at White Castle for breakfast.
Stan took me home via Sandusky St. (past “Bone Track”) junction of Olentangy & Scioto Rivers – then up Dennison & over to Pennsylvania to avoid more traffic – such a neighborhood. But we made it home in about 20 minutes.
Brought some empty cases home to pack things in & did as much as I could.

Tuesday April 19 1938
Stan in Lancaster & Logan again today but nothing unusual happened at all. It took us about 35 minutes to drive home tonight. Got caught in traffic going between Broad & Spring on Water.
Bath & then over to Mack Hall to spend the night with Marcella Risch. She & Bob had a fight & they both acted funny because of it. I hope I wasn’t too peacemakerish.
To bed about 10:50.

Monday April 18 1938
Street car strike! Got a lift from a State Street warehouse worker while walking ove from Broad & Third.
Stan in Logan & Lancaster today checking on new schedule. So everything happened. Car scrap to unload & car leatherboard to load. Ed Lauer wanted an extra truck to Logan & tried from 10:30 to 2:00 to get one started when Stan called & said we didn’t have to have one.
Stan brought me home in the truck. Nice!
Marcella Risch called again tonight asking me over. Told Davis I was to be married June 18.

Sunday April 17 1938 Easter
Up at 5:30 – Easter sunrise service at Trinity at 6:15. Picked up Mrs. Snyder & Frances & Carl Macken. Then to Harding Memorial. But it started late so we didn’t get to stay for it all.
Sunday School
Harold Seiter & Jean Quick, Mary, Walt & I went to Delaware & then Granville. Walked around a little, took some pictures, home through Mt. Vernon & Mt. Gilead. Stopped at Wilda & Elwin’s church for BY & then to their house for parlor tricks. Home at 9:00. Wally popped corn & so to bed.

Saturday April 16 1938
Fought a headache all day. So pretty out. – Warm. Planted some forsythia along the north side of our house. Uptown late in afternoon to get purse for Mary & flowers for her hat and Easter candy. Wally outdid himself.
In the evening they delivered a corsage for me from Wally. Double violets and 2 red roses. So sweet.
To bed early.

Friday April 15 1938
Wally met me on Mary’s bike & then as we started down State St. Mary came in the car. So they took my bag & I rode home on the bike. They clocked me at 12 miles per hour.
Wally took me to the Palace to see “Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs” the first feature length animated. In color and very clever. We took a short ride in the moon light afterwards. So nice out/
