Snow so pretty & Kathy wants out in it so badly that I had Walt get her the smallest pair of boots in town but they are size 8 ($1.50) and way too big. But is she proud of them. Had a grand time out with Neal & Evelyn this afternoon.

Wally off for Lincoln’s birthday. Hauled stone for a fellow that helped Daddy. We went downtown about 3:30. I bought hose for me & gadgets for Charlotte Ann Davidson Miller who was married a few Saturday’s ago. Her sister had a shower for her tonight. Madge Curl picked me up & met all of Charlotte’s new sister-in-laws. Nice people. Madge goes to Emmanuel & assures me there is an opposition to Finkenbein who wants to sever the church from the Denomination. Regular blizzard coming home.

Wally has taken our old typewriter up to the bank & they will give him $17.25 for it. (Ceiling price. They would have given more but for that). Peg Basehart & her husband both have portables & she’ll sell hers for $20 so we’re going to buy it. And at the same time the bank is glad to get ours even thought they did have to put about $15 in repairs on it.
Mary Johnston & I went to an auction- she bought a silver tea set0 I bought some picture frames.

Went over the house. Wally not home for lunch. My Azalea is about gone. A months bloom isn’t bad. My amaryllis has had 6 blooms on it & the narcissus (paper white) are blooming but they don’t seem to come out full & pretty.
Raining terribly but we went out to Rhulman’s. They hadn’t see Kathy for a while- grandma K had quilted Shari a lovely blue & gold quilt, something like Kathy’s. Ruth gave me a pink satin blouse that Mrs. Nichols had given her. Really lovely.
Came home & cut out blouse for Kathy. Got it pretty well made.

Lovely day- so finally got to scrubbing porches because of Kathy’s insistence that I go outdoors. Had been working on a while wool skirt for her all day. When Wally came home he started digging out on the south wall of the house for a cold frame. Dug out some narcissus in so doing so I potted them up & brought them in. Wonder what the result will be. Daddy & mother came over & we worked on the seed & plant orders to Burpee, Kellogg, Inter-State, Henderson’s & Noweta Gardens.
