Printed labels and updated database. Re-did newsletter to reflect last night’s board meeting actions.
In at 1:00. Quick Print couldn’t have newsletter by tomorrow so took it to Heritage Hall and ran it on copier while I wrote letters. Thanked Steve Jenkins for shelves and stair railings.

Took corrections on page one of Transformation Fund to Brad Smith.
Ate chili at Wendy’s then took rest of newsletter to Helen. They shared pumpkin pie and coffee with me and had nice visit about House on a Rock in wisconsin.

Major earthquake in San Francisco at 8:05 p.m. our time. Linda okay but crying. Dave’s ship the Gridley anchored at Treasure Island where Bay Bridge collapsed.
To Heritage Hall at 10:00 a.m. busy all day. Copying Heritage Hall Brick flyers for teachers and to include in the newsletter. Also wrote appeal for meeting reduction to include. Called Chamber of Commerce and they will prepare folders for teachers with flyers from historic sites.
Ate with Mary at Turoff’s and then to Carroll Neidhart’s to see prelims on logo for MCHS-. looks good, but emphasizes Heritage Hall too much.
Met with Charlie Evers to plan committee and he didn’t bring any info not even a program book. But I’m going through his material. Found John C’s report on Heritage Preservation Endowment Fund but not John’s resign.
Board meeting hectic. Lucy always brings the minutes about 5 minutes before the meeting. Dropped PO box and will use 169 East Church Street as address. Headed to trustees to Heritage Preservation Enddowment Fund to resolve differences.
When I got home at 10:30 phone message from Mary my first inkling of San Francisco earthquake. Talked to David, Kathi- no word from Dave but Dee had called Kathi and Dave’s ships is in San Francisco Bay!

Call from Telfer got me working on Transformation Fund package. We wrote most of text but concept and layout is great. Still don’t like layout. In at 2:30 to compare notes with Jack. He accepted all of my texts.
Stopped at Hutchman’s to repay $7.50 owed them for dinner September 23rd. Gave me Swiss chard, huge mums, tomatoes, zucchinis and peppers.
Home and had my first shelf dinner- sweet and sour chicken $2.79 not frozen but microwaves in 2 minutes. Ate a paw paw.
Black kitten still hanging around. Seems to be injured.
Called David to tell him can cash check for his new computer.

74° Sunny gorgeous color on trees.
Spent whole day at computer- cleaned up MCHS database. Wrote MCHS newsletter (how about Hallmarks for a name?) Telfer wrote several articles. Practiced using WordStar 5.5- column format is great! Nothing to it- easy.
Only time for a quick walk to enjoy mums, late asters, leaves.
Took a bath and washed hair- 3 gallons of water (the good old days). Voissard Plumbing men here at 8:30. Found a valve in the line between pump and pressure tank wasn’t working and that kept the water pumped from the well from coming into the house. So great to have running water!
Tried to eat dinner on the deck but too many yellow jackets.

Breakfast with David and then he loaded my SRC computer and monitor and the printer and took to Heritage Hall and installed them. I stopped by post office and mailed the Huber membership renewal notifications.
At Heritage Hall copied materials for executive committee meeting at 3:00- ethics for trustees to adopt. Contract between MCHS and Wyandot Popcorn Museum. Copy for transformation fund and Heritage brick sale and inevitable agenda.

David back to Terradise and cleared up printer problem for me. To Boyd’s about 1:00 for Melba Walker’s funeral. Sat with Jerry Ballinger and David. Large room completely filled. Sprague’s service made me feel as if I had had a visit with Melba. David left immediately to get back to Cincinnati to play at Sawyer’s point at 5:30. Gave me a special hug. I gave him a check for Terradise Computer Systems to buy a new faster computer and he’s running out of memory on his others.
Back to Heritage Hall for intensive executive committee meeting. George Brown there to discuss contract. Asked for a loan of July 3rd Rotograve section Marion Star with Etowah.
