Got pictures in p.m. 9 of the 16 were good. Mother, Daddy and Mary went to Scott’s in evening about 9:00. Glenn and Clarence came up. Se plus boring garcons que je savez.

Tuesday September 6th 1932
What a washing! Never will get the ironing done. Went uptown in p.m. and down to Harold’s. Went through Aunt Sylvia’s house. Pauline and Mary Burtch came up in evening and we played Bridge. we took Mary home walking what a walk.

Monday September 5th 1932
Left dawn there about 5:45. Had a time saying goodbye to Joe. Hated to leave Kentucky. It’s been wonderful. Better than assembly. I drove about 50 miles home. Went to Mary’s, Helen’s and Juanita’s in evening. Mary Ellen and Juanita came up played bridge and then I went up town with them and got a Coke.

Sunday September 4th 1932
Fooled a.m. away taking pictures etc. After dinner went through wilderness to red clay road to Cumberland Falls and then that beautiful scenery there. Waded all over the river went back under falls saw a car fall in where it didn’t ford right, inspected swell hotel there and decided where my honeymoon is to be spent. Went to get a Coke and saw a fire in my prom dress.

Got up early and Joe and I played tennis with Alice Marie and then all but chased the band around town. Dad and mother came about 11. Dotty, Mary, he and I went south of Somerset about 25 miles and Rome over shortcut. Such roads. I had a date with Joe in heat. Did we have fun then got the kids a Coke.

Friday September 2nd 1932
Went to “Nancy Lee” with Mary Sheneman to get her hair fixed. Had our Coke there. Laura and Mary Sheneman had dinner at Mrs. Mack’s and we had ours here. Alice Marie went swimming with us in Cumberland. Had loads of fun jumping off. Certainly was wonderful but for the sand Joe put in our shoes. Took ride in eve.

Mary, Laura and Ed went to Lex and Mary Parker came over to cook dinner. Janette Honeycutt came over and we started Uptown but got waylaid buy a ride in a yellow Roadster. Got a Coke and then went riding in the baby. Went to a little party at Billy Phillips in evening.

Wednesday August 31st 1932
Saw the eclipse from the fairground through 4 black negatives. I went with the two girls. Rode Ferris wheel, saw monkey show, ate snow and cotton. Didn’t do anything but cool off in the evening and didn’t do that very good.

Went to Laura Snow’s about 3:00 and visited. Went uptown for a coke & on way home met some boys in the Baby and they took us a ride. Went to “The First Year” Charles Farrel & Gaynor with “Girl Next Door” in the evening. Good.

Monday August 29th 1932
Such a washing. Dotty, Joe, Mary and I walked to depot and went through ice and milk plant with Uncle Jim. I got sick and a man brought me home. It sure was hot up in bed. Everybody went to the show but me.
