Monday September 5th 1932
Left dawn there about 5:45. Had a time saying goodbye to Joe. Hated to leave Kentucky. It’s been wonderful. Better than assembly. I drove about 50 miles home. Went to Mary’s, Helen’s and Juanita’s in evening. Mary Ellen and Juanita came up played bridge and then I went up town with them and got a Coke.

Fooled a.m. away taking pictures etc. After dinner went through wilderness to red clay road to Cumberland Falls and then that beautiful scenery there. Waded all over the river went back under falls saw a car fall in where it didn’t ford right, inspected swell hotel there and decided where my honeymoon is to be spent. Went to get a Coke and saw a fire in my prom dress.

Went to “Nancy Lee” with Mary Sheneman to get her hair fixed. Had our Coke there. Laura and Mary Sheneman had dinner at Mrs. Mack’s and we had ours here. Alice Marie went swimming with us in Cumberland. Had loads of fun jumping off. Certainly was wonderful but for the sand Joe put in our shoes. Took ride in eve.
