Saturday September 17th 1932
After the girls left I cleaned my room. Add a sort of sore throat.. From Fair dust and talking I guess. Slept in p.m. Took good bath and went to bed early. Worked on my rug in bed.

Friday September 16th 1932
Tout de l’ecole dans le A.M. Mlle. Marie et Helen ont vais ici pour diner. En le soir nous avons vais dans le faire. C’est tres dusty. Au ma maison et nous jeu caards. Magons le pie de pomm et les tasse de cafe. Mettez M. Ivan et nous crois que je will go after son. Marie et Helen sont agreable.

Thursday September 15th 1932
Mary came down and I went home with and then we came back and went to the fair through a hole in the fence. Chased around making fun of the things & etc. Bernard and Bob are staying there all night so we went over till about 11. Bob taught me honeymoon bridge. Bernard brought Mary home and came back and then Bob brought me home.

Wednesday September 14th 1932
Bob says he called here five times Saturday night and I didn’t answer. Now the question is what was he calling for. He says to see if I were home. Hula [sic]. Saw Mr. Shade and he seemed glad to see his former chemistry prodigy. Went to the fair after ticket man had gone.

Tuesday September 13th 1932
Fair was supposed to have started but didn’t see many people. Daddy says no stand this year.
Got our lockers after school, Near last door on outside end of row thank goodness. See what I learned today [shorthand]

Monday September 12th 1932
Wore blue pully dress.
A senior at last. Saw everybody. Have W.H. for homeroom. The first kids in it make it bearable bearable. Morning classes good but I’m not so cracked on my p.m. schedule. Helen, Mary and I got a Coke after school and then I went to Helen’s to see pictures and taste birthday cake. Mowed yard, got lessons. Read.

Sunday September 11th 1932
Familiar Sun. routine again. Helen came after me in p.m. and we, Mary Burtch went to tell Nita goodbye. Had to give a devotion talk at B.Y.. Came straight home. Clarence and Bob Wessinger came up in evening. Clarence brought some powder to make up for throwing tobacco worm in the car Thursday.

Saturday September 10th 1932
Ellen, Pauline and I stayed till about 11 and then came up here and played bridge while Mary Burtch curled my hair. Went up town after my school books. Mary came down in evening and Bernard is going to have some tall explaining to do.

Friday September 9th 1932
Daddy drove Ben’s LaSalle so I had our car to go to the corn roast. Afterwards Ellen, Nita, calling and I went down to Mary’s. Ate a whole chocolate cake and then we learned things. Dance, and had lots of fun. Hope we didn’t disturb the family.

Thursday September 8th 1932
Made grape juice and the kitchen is stained from top to bottom.
Mary Burtch came down and got me in afternoon. Went after Gladys early and read in the car. Ate supper. I came home early, popcorn and read.
