Call from Kathi woke me. She can go to Phillipines after Don is there 3 months. Planted cemetery graves for orders. Took cuttings from cut leaf beech at cemetery.

Clear & cooler. Finished sorting slides for talk tonight. Planted Moorehouse’s lilies & some petunias. At 4 with Betty Busch to decorate hotel for Altrusa – Maypoles – At 7:30 Men’s Garden Club “Terradise” to Hutchman’s after.

Reg Kathern – Bert Wetzel & Moore Box Salesmen! What a morning. Bought coat & dress combination – cerisse & white jersey at Uhlers. To Army Studio Band concert at Harding.

Sunday, May 24, 1970
2″ rain in thunderstorm 6 to 9 P.M.
Took Graduation Platform flowers to River Valley & they wanted to know where the 120 yellow roses! They hadn’t ordered. Took Mother to LaRue wedding. Stopped at Greers & Maggies.

Saturday, May 23, 1970
Baker wedding wanted delivery at 4 for 7:30 wedding. It was raining so they called & wanted to know where I was! Stopped at Dutch Fail’s to see iris. Ray [Romine] got him started 20 yrs. ago.

Friday, May 22, 1970
Planted salvia under black plastic – Rex Bills in hospital – bowel obstruction. Prom work went easily. About 75 nosegays. Mowed & transplanted hosta.

Thursday, May 21, 1970
In at 1:00 – Took kitten for Ken Persinger & customer took another. Worked with Kent & Maggie on prom nosegays until 9:00. Temp to 90.

Wednesday, May 20, 1970
Conastoga Neighborhood Girl Scout Leaders out for tour & Terradise & nose bag lunch. Some fished. Took 1 of Callie’s & 1 of Hobart’s kittens in agave to Withrows. John & Louise Merchant out, nice visit.

Tuesday, May 19, 1970
Rubbed down with “Minute Rub” after yesterdays exertion. Maggie had my boudoir chair covered ($25) – She took it Saturday. Mowed lower lawn in woods. Ron Cresap took 2 kittens.

Monday, May 18, 1970
Shirley out to clean. Even got garage mopped. 26 here for Burroughs Club picnic. Beautiful evening. Some ate on deck and porch. Edith Keeler – retiring president – Lela Brookshire – new one.
