Survived 3 weddings. The bride at First Nazarene “Serena” had no one sitting on her side of the aisle except her father. Short 1 corsage at Oakland & had to dash to shop to make it.
Total sidewalk sales around $700.

Thursday, June 26, 1975 82 – 80% humidity
Mrs. Calvin Jones to clean 8:15 to 3:15. Pd her $12. Howard drunk when she came and upset because repairman didn’t come yesterday. He called me a God damned lying son of a bitch. Mrs. Jones chided him for his language. Mohat repairman came about 10 and fixed the same leak in the refrigerator Sears did on April 24. He charged $40 and guaranteed for 60 days! Will order new shaft for dishwasher and install.
Imo Hentze out for hosta & ferns & gave Mrs. Jones some. Got steak for supper at Reeses & Jack gave me baler twine for Howard to finish stool seat. Howard slept it off & helped prune things this evening.

Wednesday, June 25, 1975
Cash register back in working order but won’t use it until July 1.
Not busy so Martha & Dave rearranged showroom.
Smith Witter in trying to sell me a house in Chateau Ridge for Kathi. She just laughed. Says 2 moves in 9 months are enough.
Have the delivery tables and 10×10 floor space ready for sidewalk sale. About 1,000 items.
Dinner at pancake house and ate with Helen May.
Mouse in my bedroom.

Tuesday, June 24, 1975
Getting things sorted out for big sidewalk sale.
To Carharts to pick up corporation application for bank account. Kathi & I both signed.
Worked at shop until 9:00 – Got Famous Chicken & ate on way home.

Monday, June 23, 1975
Kathi stayed all night in Columbus with another woman stranded in Chicago. She got $36 refund back on her ticket, but spent 10 hours in O’Hare Airport.
To Grady Barnes at 10 – decided to keep present accounts & liabilities like Daddy did when I bought Hemmerly’s in 1958.
Cash Register repair man in – insides so complicated.
Called WDIF about some spots about our Sidewalk Sale. Edna in to get ready for it. Talked to Paul Dasher about more space when we renew lease next year. Supper at Isaly’s.

Sunday, June 22, 1975 90 degrees humid!
Slept til 10 after a sleepless night. Heard mouse trap in kitchen but had another mouse in bedroom – with lights on!
Sorted through investment papers & filed Ins – Wills – Birth Certif – Ins Policies & Deeds in 2 desk drawers in living room.
Kathy was to get 2:00 PM plane out of Chicago but it was oversold. Called Olgua to see why she wasn’t home. Kids have been there since Thurs. She
ll be on 11 PM plane!
Put frog eggs from pond into pool. Howard has tractor mower torn down to replace part.

Saturday, June 21, 1975 89 degrees
Got Jim Schultz & Dave [Woessner] started on wedding set up & I went to LK for Ohio Association of Historical Societies meetings for the business meeting. 43 there and everything OK. Left at 11:15 – Miller wedding at Marion Catholic at 2:00 – Wes Cook & Caryn Barger at Emmanuel Lutheran at 2:30 & 7:30 at Windfall. Also had 5 others only 1 a drop off. Sold 2 weddings. Judy typed up manual for new cash register but it took lots of correcting & she didn’t like that.

Friday, June 20, 1975
Kathi left shop about 3 to catch plane for Chicago. She will be attendant for Connie Weiss wedding tomorrow. In yellow dress. She got her hair cut.
To bed at 9:00 while still light.

Teeth cleaned by Dr. Vornholt – Hair cut and set by Molly Graham.

Thursday, June 19, 1975
Plumber here and he says dishwasher leak is around shaft inside. So I spent $20 to have pump tank drained! Then he went to Kathi’s and all tub and lavatory plumbing has to be replaced. To Probst to pick out cabinet lavatory.
Picked up Lil Connolly & off to Columbus. Howard told me to buy new refrigerator but Mohats didn’t have anything. Stopped at Maple Lee. Whee!! – George Davis in 6 years has gone from $90 to $750 thousand. Took time to explain much financial management. Met David at Grandview Inn for dinner and then to hear Woody Herman. Vaughn Wiester playing with him for 9 months. Great Group. Home at 12:00.
