Monday, November 3, 1975 [Trella’s 60th birthday]
Met Kathi at shop & then to courthouse about 9:30. Met Sue Remke & Barb Jamison there & Ralph Carhart gave us “instructions”. Before Judge Kelley – took about 5 minutes & divorce was granted. All those beautiful dreams & hopes & promises – dissolved!
I came back out to Terradise where David & Karen & Sarah had just gotten up & we had brunch. All of us & Howard drove around to my acres across the river – gathered fungus, bark & hickory nuts & took pictures. In to shop about 3 where they had cake and pie & macaroni salad for my birthday.
To Kathi’s for supper. Home about 6:30 & bed 7:30 but couldn’t sleep.

Sunday, November 2, 1975
Up at 8:30 – bath & hair wash & tried to sort through accumulated papers & magazines. But I get bogged down in reading things. Howard & I to Claridon Cemetery to see if cedar limbs were still there. They were, & we trimmed up about 6 to use as bases for artificial trees. Also salvaged 25 funeral containers from their refuse pile.
Bob called me to see what my reaction would be if he asked Kathi to not go through with the divorce. I told him the problems still remain, but it’s Kathi’s decision.
Howard & I to Kathi’s for dinner. Sarah greeted us in her “bunny” suit.
Mary, Rocky & Mother in later for my birthday.

Saturday, November 1, 1975
Not too busy. Laura off. Dave made gorgeous dry arrangement for David & Karen in the antique lard dipper I got at Krohn Conservatory.
To Kensington Church for wedding at 5:45 – Door locked – Got hamburg at “Wendy’s” & back & still locked. Finally at 6:40 people came. Minister had to go to Columbus & left door unloced & some “kind” member had locked it.

Friday, October 31, 1975
Kathi, Kass & I to hear Bob Thomas program for Artisans’s Guild. He only talked for an hour & did arrangements! I think they pay him about $400 & I think he sure didn’t earn it.

Thursday, October 30, 1975 Temp 30
Headache – so watched blue sky from sofa in living room until wispy white clouds had almost covered it as they [illegible]
MKrs. Jones cleaning. From 2:30 to 5:30 I counted moth specimens & wrote down locals in preparation to giving the collection to OSU. Got about 1/3 done.
Trying to study accounting book Dick Claflin loaned me. Cannot understand double entry bookkeeping.

Wednesday, October 29, 1975
Exotica arrived at shop. 1800 pages of plants – Gift from Howard.
Judy back – had 7 teetch pulled Monday – very sullen. Got her work done by 2:15 & left.
Car in to get chrome trim & service. Trim been ordered since the February accident.
Jackie Clark called to tell me the By-laws I had type & then lost were in the secretary’s book she left at the shop after the September Board Meeting. I typed the By-laws on Thursday & then could never find them. Someone evidently put them in her Secy books & when she picked it up I “lost” it.
So tired I went to bed at 8:30.

Tuesday, October 28, 1975
Judy off – had upper teeth pulled yesterday. Kathy headache & worn out so came in at noon. But, she Kass & I got billing finished & mailed, Saturday and Monday work posted, filed & billed. Everything is up to date.
Order for hospital volunteer dinner – 175 corsages, 15 centerpieces, etc.
Had Bicentennial committee meeting before Altrusa dinner & decided to publish biographies of all Altrusa members as our project & have Marion Little Theatre group but on their “2 Kings” play for Feb. Dinner Meeting.

Monday, October 27, 1975
Got kids to school at 8:15 despite Davy’s insistance that they would be late.
Judy back but sure didn’t accomplish much. Tape jammed on cash register & it cost $33 repairs.
Took Davy to Dr. Lenzo for rectal exam. He has an extra large colon & very soft stool which accounts for his lack of control. Dr. feels he truly does not know when it emerges. Suggested less fruit & cereal in diet & regular after meal toilet times. Kathi home from Cincinnati at 6.
Read accounting principles book loaned by Dick Clofbin.

Sunday, October 26, 1975 Daylight Saving time stopped until Feb.
Tried to put myself to sleep reading the Gideon Bible but didn’t sleep much. Up at 8:30 & to Engel’s* for breakfast. Designers all working so we had preview of the the P.M. show. Didn’t buy much. Then to Hills** – bought even less. My Christmas already in. George Davis said send my profit & loss down & he’ll go over it & have his C.P.A. look at it to be sure my FTD is right. Talked to Mr. & Mrs. Don Johnson from Lima about Inc. Ate lunch at Claprood***. Bought a little. Kathi on to Cincinnati for David
s hayride. I picked up kids & hickory nuts at Walt’s. Bath & bed early – exhausted.
