Nightmare day. Had to refuse orders all day long. I tried to answer all 3 phones. David, Greg, Betty & Carolyn on delivery. David finished about 9:30 – everyone worked until 8. Sold out – over $5,000 – 750 orders.

Very busy. Kathi working. More rain PM. About 1″. Lowlands back flooded. Kent & I worked until 2:00 AM – (he till 3) – David wan’t be in until morning. Too many orders.

Rained 3″ last night & tornado at Claridon. Plants in for Mother’s Day. Gave talk at Oak Knoll Baptist Chapel Mother-Daughter potluck at Finks – everyone worked until 10:00.

Gabriella om fpr Spanish lesson after I dropped Davy off at home. He was so good. Kathi had me & Maxine Lamb (Ruth’s “adopted” daughter) for supper.

Cold – 47 – threatening to rain all day but 150 people came for open garden. Genevieve & Paris & Helen late & had pie for them. Davy stayed all night with me. Kathi went to Mrs. Fisher’s funeral with Walt & Olgua.

Got through at 12:20 in LaRue so rushed back to Marion in time for Ruth’s funeral & then to First Presyterian & Emmanual Lutheran for 2 2:30 weddings. Beautiful day so out to Terradise to meet David & Karen on way back from cemetery. David was pallbearer for Ruth.

Working on 45 funeral pieces, 8 weddings & 70 corsages & nosegays. Called on Ruth Ruhlman – looked like 20 yrs. ago. Saw Lowell & Alice. Back to shop till 10. Kent & Connie still working. Sunny but cold – about 55

Grandma Fisher* died last night in Winchester, Indiana hospital. Took Kathi shopping for coat dress – Suttons $56. Betty, Marian & my family for spaghetti supper. Bill Barnhart hung new drapery.
