Temp 50. Sally cleaned kitchen cupboards. Howard & I walked in wood across river. He’s not leaving tomorrow. So glad – he would be rootless. To Wolslagh’s German Class till 8 & then “Four Freshmen” with Paris & Helen.

Martha off sick – Sis in but had cold so sent her home. Kent took Datsun to Columbus – Annie & Jeanne – Annie hospital tests. Howard translated “KleineLok”. Tape recorder stolen from front seat of car during day.

Don Shuster called for Kathi’s address. He’s going to Germany on business.
Datsun delivered late PM. Kent took Aldrich to his house to pick up VW because it wouldn’t start so I didn’t even see new car. To Mary’s for supper & then to “Greece” Phillip Walker – so-so.

-15 degrees. Howard kept greenhouse from freezing with electric heater. Sunny. Took walk in woods – Rockwells, Mother & Dean & Alice Barrett out to see Kathi’s German movies & hear tape. Me headache.

To Mary’s at noon for Kathi’s call from Germany, but she didn’t call until 1:35. Direct dialed! They talked 18 minutes. Lupters moving to Bellaire O from 552 N. Greenwood end of month.

Told Mother I’d buy 552 N. Greenwood for $8,000. $3,000 down – $100 mo. for 5 yrs which is $1,000 interest. Also told Inskeep Olds I’d buy Datsun 5 door – $2,283 & ’68 VW. High 50 today.
