Howard helped get tables, etc. ready for shop picnic. Kent brought his grill to roast bratwurst. Maggie & Weaver’s fished. Pic played on oragn for singing. Kuehnle’s came. I showed European movies. Good time by all.

Saturday, August 19, 1972
Did 1:30 & 2:30 weddings & back to shop with headache. To Grace Burth’s funeral at 11:00 AM with Mary Rockwell. Raining as we left church. Home at 4 & left Connie & Kent to do 2 evening wedding. Henry Lamb called – will arrive 9/2. In bed all evening.

Stopped to see Mary Burtch Jordan AM. Very talkative. Called at funeral home in evening. To see “Fiddler on the Roof” movie with Mary & Rocky – really great.

Thursday, August 17, 1972
Maggie called saying Grace Burtch* died about 5 AM. She was 89. House cleaned my bedroom floor, bed & draperies. Didn’t go to Alice Edward’s father’s funeral.

More air conditioning problems at shop. Paul Dasher (Landlord) suggested I report problems to him. He thinks $500 in repairs for the last year are too much. Called Camera Hut – says will ship Nikkormat Monday.

Loren took me to Ponderosa for steak after visiting Mary.

Monday, August 14, 1972
Loren Baker called saying he had brought Mary to Dr. & he put her in Community Memorial Hospital. Had found her on floor about 5 AM. She seems confused. Had Loren & Iva Liles out here for impromptu supper. She really a talker. Then back in to see Mary at hospital.

Sunday, August 13, 1972
Trimmed daylily bloom stems. Howard & I to Kingwood. Met man from Karlsruhe. Henry Lamb called from Cape Cod & wants to come to Ohio even if I’m gone. Called David – he worked 16 hrs. Saturday.

Got Mark Webb headed in right direction but I took Morral delivery. Took Mother. Wedding at Emmanuel used flowers from Hawaii. Corn on cob for supper. Watched “War & Peace” Russian version on TV.

Friday, August 11, 1972
Eric Lockwood – 15 mo. died. Erma Hutchman’s grand nephew. Letter from Kathy & answered it. 3 weddings tonight. I did St. Marys & Waldo. Kent to Claiborne.
