Cold day but Howard and I went across the river to get buckets of soil for the front lawn.
Cooked a pot roast for dinner about 3 p.m.
Sorted Arizona slides for talk to Burroughs Club next Monday.

Bernard Brooks, Mary and Carl picked me up at 5 to go to Worthington to surprise Mary at “The Forum”- Kenny’s idea for her birthday.

Sunday April 1st 1979
Kathy, kids and I drove to my woods across the river and we spent the morning all over it. Kathy said “Oh look, a deer! April Fool!” But there we found lots of deer tracks but no deer. Kids didn’t remember having been over there before!
Mary and Kenny brought mother out about 2 and announced they will be married on July 21st. They went back to Marion for an organ concert at Kenny’s Church- Prospect Street United Methodist. Caused quite a sensation there with their announcement.
Mother brought a 1 layer cake so we put 6 candles on it for Mary’s 60th birthday.
Paris and Helen out for the evening.
