Wednesday April 18th 1979
Got “piece” for shoes from Dr. Brown- no more bindings thank goodness.
Took titles to license bureau but line was so long I left them and they will call when ready.
Shopped at Penney’s for a dress for Mary’s wedding. Found a print- beige tones with blue and peach in print. Bought sleeves and blou waist line. Sure makes me look fat. I am going to lose 10 lb before May 10th!
Dave and Kass fired Brad yesterday and Terry Zacharias started today. Truck radiator leaking again so had to use my car for delivery.
Supper at Turoff’s with gang.

Tuesday April 17th 1979
Terrible headache when I woke up. Took triaminicin and Anacin and back to bed until noon. Read “Anderson Letters.”
Did manage to finish setting out the 100 pansies along pool by greenhouse door and front Bank by driveway. Sure nice plants from Michigan Pansy Gardens- $11 per 100.
Dragged myself to MCHS board meeting at library. Had Barry there to take picture again has so many not there before. Some time ago I reminded Marj Williams that the board members should be re-elected but she forgot it and asked 5 new people to serve. She is Chairman of nominating committee. Voted $150 to Palace Theater operating fund.

Monday April 16th 1979
Brad 2 hours on a should be 45 minute delivery. Kass and I decided he must go.

Saturday April 14th 1979
Plenty busy all day but supplied all needs of those in the shop. Barry’s friend Marty Martin in at noon and ran two deliveries in his car. Turns out he is Gayle’s ex-husband!
Terry Zacharias terrific as delivery boy.

Friday April 13th 1979
Had Randy make sloppy joes for supper. Good. Only worked until 8:30 all orders up and first three deliveries ready to go.

Monday April 9th 1979
Snow covering ground when I got up but melted during day. Temperature about 35 degrees. Judge Myers sent about eight sheets of Marion City history gleaned from City directories. Finished unpacking Caffco order and sent some up to mothers. Brad starting to pad his delivery time. I knew that long hair indicated poor character!
To mothers. Took pictures of her house to test flash in different modes.
Mary and Kenny picked me up at shop at 6 and we went to Isaly’s for dinner. They paid my check since I took them to see Thayer Soule in “Escape to the South Seas” after. Made me want to leave for the Fiji islands and homesick for the Philippines.
Talked to Mr. and Mrs. Bill Haley who sat next to me. He was in the car that witnessed my accident in July of 53. He wondered how my hand healed so I showed him that the stretch of my left thumb is 1 inch shorter than my right one.
Busy funeral day so didn’t get much done for Easter preparations.
