Package arrived from Taylor Publishing. After work Bernard Brooks, Mary and Carl picked me up and we ate at Chinese restaurant “Golden Chopsticks” on Route 95. Big rainstorm while there.
Back to shop at 7 to meet John Cottrell. Worked until 12 getting a financial statement made for the past 3 years for state and federal reports.

Lennox Candle salesman in till 11:30 when David called. He must have known I was really low last night. Plan to meet next Sunday for picnic at John Bryan State Park.
Jack Bull accepted my proposition that he try to raise $10,000 from Manufacturers Council so the MCHS can make $18,000 from sale of 2,750 books.
Go to El trece. James Peppard installed her daughter Marsha as president. Very emotional.
Worked on raise schedule. Any place from ten cents for Lil to 35 cents for Chris. Also bonus schedule- every full-time worker $125 and others $60 or $35. Mine $2,000 since I haven’t had a raise in three years.

Conference with Pat O’Hare on selling Hemmerly’s from accountants point of view. Not much to offer. No comment on selling price except he sure would buy it quick at 75,000 which is what lawyers seem to think that it was worth.
At 6 Pete and Kass in with some questions about figures in last three years profit-and-loss sheets. He had predicted this year’s sales at $410,000, completely ignoring out order delivery, telephone receipts it is actually $466,000.
Inventoried off and on all day in until 9:30 tonight.
Sent caustic note to Lazarus. They returned glass container and lid for my blender just like I had sent to them to repair the metal part at the bottom but with a hole in the bottom and charged me $14.42.

Called Jody at Taylor [Taylor Publishing] at Dallas to see if we could reduce 19 by 22 pica of pictures to 9 x 10 and run caption beside them. Said yes but also said first three chapters need layouts done on the yellow sheets of the Quad packs. She will ship them back to me today so there goes my next week!
Took sliced strawberries to Nelly Kline AM- after work Nel, Lil, and I called at Boyd’s on her mother, Mrs. Stumbo, who was my neighbor when I first moved out here 26 years ago.

Mrs. Jones back to finish cleaning. In to shop about 10 for conference with Kass on installing the new Mercury transmitting machine for out and in orders. Priced Christmas Arrangements on FTD folder. New owner of Hotel Harding Asrauch in to see if the Historical Society had any history on it. He had a man with him working on getting it on the national register of historic places. Took my car into Inskeeps again and Mike drove it and had to admit it wasn’t right. So it goes in Wednesday for the third time. Paid half taxes $871.53. Home at 3 and finished getting ready for Burroughs Club picnic. 23 here Goldus Bolander sure hated to turn the gavel over to Margaret Iams!
David called to wish me Happy Father’s Day!
