Worked on book until 2. Finished the four townships Jody sent back. Wish I had them all. But at least I know the first 111 pages are what I want.
In the shop about 1:30. Kass says Connie came to her saying everyone is buzzing about Kass & Pete buying shop. So Kass said “You mean because Pete came in to help Trella with the Mercury?”
We started to program it, but customer service said wait until tomorrow.

Trella Hemmerly – 1979-06-30

Saturday June 30th 1979
7 weddings today- two will call. Laura service 1 and I serviced 4. Including Blashinsky at St Mary’s, Janice Linstedt’s sons at Emmanuel, Frances and Louis Fairchild’s daughter at Central Christian and somebody at Freewill Baptist.
Took reception to Sawyer-Ludwig Park and was misled to wrong hall. Broke my ornate silver candelabra when trying to move things to proper hall.
Met the gang out here at 5:30 and went to Al’s Restaurant in Cardington. Treated Bernard Brooks to steak for his belated birthday dinner. Drove past Willard and Gaynell Durfee’s. She really gardens, roses, perennials, annuals. And not a weed!
Home about 9 and right to work on the book until 2 am.
Had planned a picnic tomorrow with David but has rained for three days and more tomorrow so called it off.

Thursday June 28th 1979
Started on preface, acknowledgments and chapter 1 Pasted up dummy leaving proper space for pictures. Reminded me of Old Harding Herald days.
Hated to stop to go to annual meeting of historical society. Went at 7 to meet WMRN reporter who interviewed me for tomorrow’s news program.
About 50 at meeting. Really rattle in that 300-seat auditorium at OSUM. Carroll and Ellen in at 9 and he proceeded to repeat everything that had already been said.
Mike Griffith gave slideshow of his blacksmithing operation. Don Novatny did the slides. Good.
