In at noon – Car oil & grease, to bank, Gegenheimer, Social Security. Got overdue bills at shop. Will try to colled for the folks. Back in evening for Marjorie Deyson to pin up hair. Popcorn & T.V. with kids. Beautiful day. Temp 80.

Sunday, September 12, 1954
Kathy & I in at 7:30 & she helped me do Basco’s wedding. Visited with Dad & Cora Romine & took them lima beans. Stpped at Mary & Rocky’s house. Mike out home with us & then George & Helen Leonard* picked him up & watch T.V.

[*The Leonards lived at 551 N. Greenwood, across the street from the Haldeman house at 552. David, Mike Leonard & Keith Brown were best buddies during the short time David lived on Greenwood St (1945-1953)

Saturday, September 11, 1954
Cleaned basement & all but bedrooms upstairs as Johnny Gill said he might be over but no show. Mary & Rocky out in evening to eat cake Kathy baked. Beautiful moonlight tonight. David in with them.

Friday, September 10, 1954
Still woosey till noon. Vomited in night & then felt better. Wrote notes of acknowledgement & answered letters. Went to County preview of football at Caledonia with Mary Jordan. She’s worried about Marilee & Keith Augenstein.

Sick headache all day.

Picked peck of lima beans. Monument man here from Shelby – to cemetery to meet him. Banked & Shopped some. Mary & Rocky’s house getting siding on – windows in. Mary Jordan here in evening. Went thru some things in attic. Diaries – there is so much——-

Kids to school. Kathy 8th – David 4th. David has Mrs. Milan Gorby Sr.
Ironed in evening.

Monday, September 6, 1954
Labor Day
Juanita Starch [sic?] had coffee with me. Then Webbs & Mildows [sic?] from Toledo. Daddy out & took Pat Esterline & Kathy in for movie. Browns brought wieners & picnic. Ate in basement. Too hot ourdoors. Boys caught young black snake. We had ride on river. Bill & Erma Hutchman out. They bought lot on Blvd.*

[*Hutchman’s had lived at the SW corner of Forest Lawn & Indiana Ave until building their house on Vernon Hgts Blvd.]

Sunday, September 5, 1954
Kathy to Sunday School. I weeded bed behind greenhouse & set out some primroses (from seed in February) on bank. Hot! About 95. Mowed lawn. To Mary & Carl Jordan’s for picnic with old gang. Keith Brown along & then here for night.

Saturday, September 4, 1954
Wedding OK A.M. Banked – Lunch at Mother’s. Kathy & I home. TT. Rayl from Western Southern out to fill out forms on Ray’s policy. Then Hazel Chase & John Gill here for couple of hours. Kathy & I for supper – Worked in Iris. Paris & Helen at dark & we picked LIma beans by flashlight. Mary & Rocky out with truck load of kindling.
