Beautiful day – Sunny. Worked on Bookkeeping & got out 5 assignments on Writing Course & wrote letters.

Monday, January 10, 1955
In to work at 1:30 – 5:30. Called Mrs. Emdie in Akron about speaking May 6 & had no more than hung up when Mrs. French of Canton called me for May 4.

Sunday, January 9, 1955
In at 8 – Connely & RInnert weddings. Stopped at Hutchmans with cyclamen & at Williams for Garden Club stuff. Napped when I got home & watched TV till 11:00.

Saturday, January 8, 1955
Worked cleaning kitchen until 3 – supervising kids on other jobs. In at 4 & bought David a blue suit at Dugans & 2 shirts. Had supper at Henney & Coopers. Then to look at ’52 Dodge at Ford but were closed. Kathy & I worked on wedding till 10:00 then home. David stayed all night at folks.

Friday, January 7, 1955
Worked on bookkeeping – sorting checks, etc. for year’s record. Mother & Daddy stopped for a minute. Worked at kitchen tonight. Whole house is a mess. Kathy to basketball game with Pleasant. Davie won 72-62 – leading league with no losses.

Thursday, January 6, 1955
To school again with Butterflies, this time for Sophmore Biology Class. In to folks & then for dinner then uptown shopping. Got white shring [?], 2 tablecloths, some dishes & blouse. Home & got kids back to Mary’s for supper then to shop for wedding appt. Home with headache. (Request from “Young Set” for Ray’s cartoon)

Wednesday January 5, 1955
Worked on seed order for Parks this A.M. & then started on basement. Got it in fair shape. Letter from Emily Henrickson. FInished ironing tonight while watching TV.

Tuesday, January 4, 1955
Warm & rainy. Worked in Greenhouse & brought dirt in. Got wheelbarrow load of manure from Stanleys. Bill Smith out to see why tank leaks. No promises [?]. Mr. Augenstein to take sampe of water again. Mother & Daddy & I made out seed order & brought lunch out. Ironed again tonight.

Monday, January 3, 1955
To Caledonia School to talk to 8th grade with some of Ray’s [butterfly] cases. Mr. Wagner asked me to talk to 9th too & stay for lunch in cafeteria. In to shop, groceries & home. Ironed – some since before Christmas! Started story about when Daddy was a boy.

Sunday, January 2, 1955
Worked in kitchen all morning. Soft water is nice. Took down Christmas Tree. In to Hutchman’s at 3:30. Over to see their lot on Vernon Hts. Blvd – lovely nice supper – then Erma & I worked on Garden Club Programs. Home at 10:00. Drooled over Parks Garden Catalog. Bed at 12.
