Friday, January 21, 1955
To Columbus in Nash & shopped Lazarus Remnant Day. Bought 5 pc. breakfast set – $88, 8×4 rug for $5 – & misc. household items. In Marion at 5:30 & stopped & got my new 1953 Ford – Mary & Rocky out about 9:30 with their table & truck stalled so Mother & Daddy had to come out to fix it. Had lunch & they left about 11:30 – Mother fell.

Thursday, January 20, 1955
Scrubbed basement. Mother & Daddy out. Daddy cut out valance boards from extra closet shelves & moved wing chair to basement for me. Cleaned out greenhouse in P.M. – Sprayed for white fly & aphids. In at 7 for Norton & Jolliff wedding appointments. Kathy permanent – Helen Romine. Mrs. Morehouse down about wild lilies.

Wednesday, January 19, 1955
Cleaned bedrooms & most of closets. Kathy to Dance at Town Hall tonight. David skated on river after school. High today 25. Fuel oil put in $36 for house $9 for greenhouse since Dec 21. Kathy all A’s except Phys. Ed. David improving!

Tuesday, January 18, 1955
In at 1:00. Drew $1175 from Marion Federal and bought 1953 Custom 6 – 4 door Ford. Allowed me $289 on ’48 Nash. Picked up Kathy’s trumpet for rental. She to Youth Fellowship party at Donie.

Monday, January 17, 1955
Hopkins out to look at Coldspot refrigerator that I advertised on Swap Shop. Bout it for $50. Picked kids up at school & Kathy & I looked at breakfast sets while David got hair cut. Daddy had ’53 Ford for me to look at. Kathy got hair cut at Helen Leonard’s while I went to Burroughs at Bess Sniders.

Sunday, January 16, 1955
David & I in at 7:15 – Did Burton wedding at Radnor. Home at 4:30 bringing Keith Brown with us. Mary & Rocky out for while. Brows out after Keith & I showed slides.

Saturday, January 15, 1955
Cleaned living room good & high spots elsewhere. Not out of house all day. Windy & sunny about 32. Play8ed Geopgraphy with David – Bath, TV in my new blue & red ski pjs. Bed at 11:15.

Friday, January 14, 1955
[illegible] all wages received while sick so have a $435 refund coming back – whoopee! Lowell & Norman Haldeman stopped in about noon. First time I’ve seen them, since Walt left! Daddy called at 1:30 & I was supposed to be in New Bloomington making a talk. So rushed over & gave it at 3:00!

Thursday, January 13, 1955
Cleaned out desk & drawers. To Donie at 3:15 & opened checking acc’t at Bank. Took David to barber but had to have appt. More income tax tonight.

Wednesday, January 12, 1955
Water tests satisfactory! Worked on income tax till 3:30 then took kids in. More income tax. Supper at folks – Marjorie Deyson set my hair. Mrs. Deyson visited Mary with me. Home at 8:30. Snowing! Ironed & T.V.
