Wrote checks & went to bank. Then in town – Got paint, left clothes for cleaning – To Fahey Bank – at shop. Had roast in cooker so good supper. TV. Kids playing Monopoly for hours.

Sunday, January 30, 1955 2 below – 18 high
Took Kathy to Sunday School. Daddy & Mother out about 2:30 & brought Keith Brown & Dick Eicher. Kids skated – Daddy chopped wood, fixed tire on my Ford & nailed cornices together. All here for supper. Kathy to MYF. David & I TV.

Saturday, January 29, 1955
In at noon to do Shuster wedding. Got shoes for Kathy – stopped at Ruth Ruhlman’s. Ollie Babbs in hospital. Cancer has spread. Kathy & I to see “The SIlver Chalice”. Home about midnight.

Friday, January 28, 1955
In at 9:30 to Erma’s to meet with Mary K. Stone & Jim Weaver & plan kitchen build-ins for Camp Young Lodge. To shop at 11:30 to do Cramer wedding. Still cold. High today 11 – zero last night. Got David tennis shoes $1.98 & me nylon & fur boots $6. Delivered flowers to Timson Allen Funeral Home & picked Kathy up at game. Caledonia 73, Waldo 62.

Thursday, January 27, 1955
Zero – to Green Camp to give talk for Institute on Flower Arranging. Won 5 lbs sugar as door prize & they gave me my lunch. Set up candelabra for Cramer wedding tomorrow – then to finance meeting at Girl Scout office. Home at 5:30 – kids out to skate but too cold.

Wednesday, January 26, 1955
Took Garden Club Program in to Bernard Brooks* & shopped for David’s party. Home at 1:00 – Baked cake & scalloped potatoes. Picked kids up at school (9 boys from Davidd’s 4th grade & had party in rcreation room.) Snowing & blowing terribly by 7 when parents came for them. Mary & Rocky out to help.

[*High school and life-long friend who owned a print shop in his home on Thew Ave. at the time. He later taught printing at Harding High School.]

Tuesday, January 25, 1955
Snow
Mrs. Deyson out & we cleaned all day. After supper & washed floors & then ready to go to Mt. Gilead taking Becky Yanitell to give Flower Arrangement talk at her aunt’s Mary Morton to Progress Club. Big Sucess – $10.00

Monday, January 24, 1955
Got out 5 batches verse in A.M. In at 1:00 to Flower Show Schedule Committee meeting at Joan Bessoni. Beautiful new home – kids in from school with Mr. Kellog. Supper at Rockwells. Then me to 7:00 & 7:45 Girl Scout meetings. THen to shop to make Glamellia & load for talk tomorrow night. Kathy baby sat for Ann Hutchman.

Sunday, January 23, 1955
Typed dummy for Garden Club Program. Furnace circuit off all night & it was 52 in house. In at 1:30 for wedding appointment – Cramer. Then to Erma Hutchmans – talked her house plans mostly. TV tonight. Bed 11:30. Wrote invitations for David’s party next Wednesday.

Saturday, January 22, 1955
(Yesterday Jim Weaver sealed half of basement ceiling & put up stair railing.) Cleaned at basement again. Kathy to practice for play tomorrow. Pat Esterline & Jacky Durham home with her to skate on river. Here for supper & then Evelyn Durham over in snowstorm. Washed hair & she set it.
