Cleaned more kitchen cupboards & polished silverware. Planted schizanthus, exacum, hollyhocks, tomatoes, marigolds, armeria, aubretia, pinks, etc. in vermiculite on greenhouse. Ironed & typed theme for Kathy. Letters to Simons & Jessie Mai Hemmerly. Bath – bed 11:15. I weigh 130 – gained 10# since August.

Moved plate rack from over stove to breakfast end of room. Cleaned out cupboards & put in another shelf. Brought bulbs in from coldframe to greenhouse. Still plenty of snow but melting some. Washed tonight. TV & popcorn.

David & I in at 8. Did Jolliff & Bacon weddings both small. Thru at 1:00 then home at 2:00 to flooded basement where melted snow ran in. Lifted drains out & swept. Hutchman’s here at 3:00. Kathy brought Pat Esterline home. Blueprints & pressed plants. I burned pie. They left about 7:30. Planted petunias, snaps, celosia, primrose, callas in greenhouse.

Got out 37 batches of poems. Kathy cleaned refrigerator & I rearranged living room. Miserable weather. Wet snow. Temp about 34.

In AM to make centerpiece & send plants to Oliphants for garden club program. Then as I was ready to go found order for 4 headbands. So I was 1 hr late. David in bed when I got home with fever but he was better after supper. Kathy home with Erma Clark & then to Morral game. Caledonica won by 1 pt!

Daddy out and put up valences in Kathy & mine room & bathroom. To Erma Hutchman’s at 1:30 for Garden Club Board meeting. Then to shop & made 2 arm bokays for “The Philadelphia Story”. Home for supper then back to see play with Erma & Kathy. Good. Had Earl Roberts* put $20 seat covers on Ford for $5. Zero this AM.

Windy. Blowing last nights snow into drifts. In at 10 with $23 order from Mrs. Kaelber. Daddy got 4 new Goodyear tubeless tires put on my car. I paid $90 + tax. Got Garden Club Programs at Bernard’s and mailed them. Picked Kathy up at Caroline Foos’ birthday party. She to Square Dance tonight. Got lumber for rest of cornices.

Breakfast set arrived. Mary & Rocky out to put it together after supper. Put new 4’7″ x 7’9″ rug down in my bedroom. More snow.
