Friday, March 11, 1955
65 degrees.
Worked in greenhouse. Transplanted petunias, snaps, pansies. To school at 2:30 to show pictures (wildflowers, mostly) to David’s class*. In to shop & did small wedding & some corsages. Washed at Mary’s. Mary & Rockey gone to Cincinnati to visit Vivian Adams. Crocus & Hepaticas & aconite blooming.

[That class became part of the first to graduate from River Valley High School in 1963]

Thursday, March 10, 1955
Met Creasap’s at Gegenheimer’s office & it took all morning to get all the papers in order for them to buy 954 Westwood. Gave me $5,000 cash & note for $3,500 due in 6 months. Paid off mortgage & had $500 left. To radio station at 3 to make recording with others for Girl Scout week. Made 10 corsages.

Wednesday, March 9, 1955
To shop in AM & then off for Delaware. Worked over maps in Courthouse & found more acres. Picked up 1 more A-1 & then on to Newark with portfolio for Davis. Had snack in Granville. David at Miglore’s* so picked him up & then home.

Tuesday, March 8, 1955
To Donia to mail letters & my new tubeless tire was hissing. Miglores pulled stone out & I left to be plugged when I went to work on census. Have found over 4,000 acres. Home at 7:00. To get tire $1.75. TV & bed. Tired.

Monday, March 7, 1955
To Eastern Delaware County working on census. 6,000 acres short there. Enumerator just didn’t finish. To school at 4:30 to pick up Kathy from Jr. Hi. basketball game. Caledonia beat Pleasant. Worked on bookeeping all evening. I’m about $250 short of funds.

Sunday, March 6, 1955
Took Kathy to Sunday School. She was in a play. Read a book – “North Wind Blows Free”. Mary & Rocky brought David home about 3. Took Kathy to MYF. Worked in greenhouse potting coleus & petunias. TV tonight.

Saturday, March 5, 1955
Daddy out with Rocky, Mr. Deyson & Clarence Greer & took my sofa bed in & I fixed living room like I wanted it! Cleaned whole house. Ronny Lyon, Terry & Bob Swisher, Erma Clark & Phyliss Kyle & Mothers (except Kyle) here for evening. Kids roasted wieners, played ping pong & records. Mothers gabbed. David in with Daddy.l

Friday, March 4, 1955
In at 9:00 to do Weston wedding. To Garden Club at 1:30 – Niemyer on water conservation. Then back to shop to finish wedding & service it. David came in with Mr. Pilkw* [sic] & Kathy to Clarks for supper & all night. (Skating party at Bucyrus) Home about 9:30.

Off to Newark at 9:30 & found more farm on way. Mr. Davis is very talkative but took me to lunch & gave me another ED in Delaware Co. Home about 5. Thunderstorm tonight. TV. Popcorn.

Wednesday, March 2, 1955
Transplanted some of Daddy’s petunias & coleus into my little flats. Worked on census in Richland & Waldo Twnsp. Found Heron rookery in woods. Still short 300 acres. Mother & daddy out & put up kitchen & David’s cornices. That’s all of them. Kathy to dance at town hall.
