River to bottom of log steps & compost pile & still rising. Woody delivered crushed stone for driveway. My day off. Took Kathy in for trumpet lesson. Got 4 pair panties for Mary for birthday. Gave “Spike” kitten to Joan Mason.

Wednesday, April 3, 1957
Ice & sleet storm. Temp 30. Miserable still headachey. Worked on Past due statements. On bookkeeping at home tonight. Bed 10:30. Gave white kitten to Jack Bull.

Tuesday, April 2, 1957
Mother & Daddy home about 11:00. Oranges – candy – purses – but best of all, them! Out here for supper Kathy cooked. Mary & Rocky too. Me to bed with headache. Showed movies & slides of Florida.

In AM to finish funeral work. Did 56 pieces Saturday & today. Guy & Russ Hunter used 7 tons rock to finish walls. $60 for the 2 days. Paris out fishing. Karhy, David, Bob Swisher & I to Pleasant school for Kathy’s YPS Band concert. Bob here for supper. Transplanted stuff.

Four funerals. About 50 pieces & a spray. Emma Wade & Mrs. Deyson worked. Woody hauled 7 ton rocks for banks. To smorgasbord at Donia for supper & washed cassaroles till 9:30. Dead tired.
