Daddy & I to DeSantis & got 50 nlilies & misc. stuff. Had 75 corsage orders at noon. Kathy to FHA meeting & I read scripture at Community Club. I washed & made 125 bows. Tired.

Monday, April 15, 1957
Isabell Scott & Emma Wade in for Easter week. Ed & Marian Thomas at shop at 5:30 & then home with me for dinner, stopping to look at ducks on Brocklesby’s pond*. Kathy cooked. Back to Burroughs Club meeting at 8:00. Ed’s pictures wonderful. Mother & Daddy, Mary & Rocky, David as my guests. Home 11:30. Tired.

[*This pond at the SW corner of Brocklesby Rd & Williamsport Rd. still exists (2022). It is a glacial remnant of a kettle pond.]

Sunday, April 14, 1957
Tired AM. Worked in greenhouse. Potted gloxinias & tuberous begonias & set some coleus. Mary & Rocky out for a minute. Isabelle Stump & Mella Van Meter brought pussy willow & watched birds. Bob Swisher helped rearrange living room & took Kathy to MYF. To bed at 8:30 & read “No Time for Sargents”.

Saturday, April 13, 1957
2 weddings. Kathy in helping. Pretty day but started snowing as I cam from Green Camp wedding. TO bed at 9:00.

Set out hedge of Oak Leaf Hydrangea – Peach & Apricot trees, high bush cranberry, Vibirnum, Bleeding Heart & Clematis. Helen Hanning cleaned in PM. In with Kathy & bought her dress & me hat, shoes, purse & jewlery. Joya Willey out to order wedding flowers.

Wednesday, April 10, 1957
To Murphey’s – Urbana with Daddy. Got 98 hydrangea plants $175. Brought the 2 kittens left home with me tonight to play with. David & I planted nursery stock.

Tuesday, April 9, 1957
I got hair cut short in back – shampoo & set. Finished statements. Plenty busy at shop. Mother & Daddy to Roy Hemmerly’s & got frozen beef. I got headache. Home at 6:00. Picked Kathy up after she got permanent at Shirleys. Both of us to bed with headaches.
