Friday October 6th 1978
Kass called last night to tell me Janiece had quit- someone hurt her feelings. Jan called me after I talked to Faye. Faye thinks she should make more than Jan (they are both at are $3 now) because she taught Jan but I don’t know what cause of her quitting. Laura swallowed a corsage pin and Kass took her to the emergency room. Took it out with a scope. I worked on corsages and ordered from first American salesman. Carroll Neidhart called that he has a 18 x 20 log house as a gift from Carl Seiter on Seiter Road. Will be moved to Fairgrounds. Wrote Sheneman article for history.

Thursday October 5th 1978 hi 64 low 48
David out early to get new hot water tank. I gave him check for $125 to cover as Jed’s birthday present. Why does Karen have 2 packages of carrots in refrigerator when there are nice ones in their garden? And when I peel one for the kids she won’t let them eat it? Made oatmeal for breakfast and played with kids outdoors for 2 and 1/2 hours. Sarah loves to swing and Josh pushes his taxi along the sidewalk so nice. Karen got lunch. Omelette. All took naps- me too. David to Snoot ‘n Hoof to work. He installed water heater AM. I left about 4. Story and pictures on me in Commentator.

Wednesday October 4th 1978
Karen talked to her mother for over 30 minutes with the door to living room shut.
David to Market early. Sarah padding about by 8 and Josh fussing to be out of crib by 8:15. Got their cereal while Karen still rested. Pants changed and dressed. Took them outdoors and they played nicely with push toys. Swept the garage and walks and transplanted ivy to area near drive. Fixed hot dogs and soup for lunch and got kids in bed for nap. About 2:15 Karen heard noise in basement. I went down and found water heater leaking. Neighbor turned off gas and water just as David got home. David and I sopped up 8 6 gallon buckets of water with three little rags. Pork chops for supper. Slides of Josh and Jed. Bed early. Read Centennial until 2:30.

Tuesday October 3rd 1978
Dave working on Greenwood spray and matching pedestal pieces- spray mixed fancy greens and 6 red roses. Left for Cincinnati at 12 and to David’s about 3. Karen and Jed home from hospital. All 3 kids and Karen napping. Had lasagna for supper from their freezer. Karen really in pain. Jed so good. Fusses a little at feeding time only. Kids kiss him. Josh keeps saying “Hi bebe”. Josh trying to talk but can’t understand him. Slept on davenport.
