Spoke to Marion Co. Assoc. of Garden Clubs at Prospect Street Methodist Church – on “Fall Gardening” About 40 for all day meeting. To shop to interview 53 yr old Bob Coulson – Shy does he want to be a florist? had to pick Dave up at school as he had a detention for “study hall disruption” so I missed Chris & Mary Ann Harruff when they came in to sign leasee. To Camera Club meeting – Cols Metropolitain Park photographer fantastic shots.

Stopped at Epworth to pay respects to George Stafford. To shop to get info on what flowers were for 3 cards that weren’t completed. Met Chris Harruff & wife at 633 Bordeaux. He is part owner of Erickson’s Music & the instrument repair man. Nice kids but maybe too much money $350 month. To Gloria Marshall. Left Fund raising letter at Dr. Bryson’s office for OK – Took an aloe to Mrs. C. J. Roberts – Red dropped dead Sat AM while getting paper. He gave me the chestnuts last year. She gave me more & turnip. Had fried rice for supper. More calls on house but saved it for Chris. He ask to have it for $325 until Feb. Wrote Uncle Allen.

David up & we met Mary at Home Federal & transferred Mother’s CD’s & Money Market to our names. CDs $8,824 each & Money Market $7,000 after paying $3,000 funeral expenses. I told Mary I felt the $2,000 mother wanted Kathi & David to have should come out of my share. So shwe will take the $200 she wanted Trinity to have out of hers. Lunch with David at Turoff’s & conferred with Faye about shop decor. To Gloria Marshall 157 3/4 lbs. Signed up for 160 more 1/2 hrs. $270 + OT & bars. David out & did program for MCHS membership. Printer blew fuse – Lots of trouble.

Left Mammoth Cave Hotel about 9:00 – 2 nights $65 – Next time ask for rooms facing ravine. Home via Ft. Knox & nice guard tried so hard to find Lee Whisenhut for us because I thought it was spelld Wiesenhunt so couldn’t. He pointed out fall mushrooms agaracus campistro & I gathered some. Drive around base & went to Patton Museum. Rained most of way home. Got here about 6:00.

Took 10:00 AM half day tour of Mammoth Cave – 4 mile walk – lots of up & down. Had lunch in snowball room – last half was strenuous & my knee hurt. Dave took the Historic Tour at 3:15 – another 2 miles. I took the Green River Boat Tour. Misty rain – not too exciting. Reminded me of House Boat on the Cumberland River about 1930 with the Shenemans.

In to Cave City for supper at Wendy’s & some groceries for breakfast. Read in room.
