Saturday May 18th 1935
Up early and trimmed grass with scissors around trees, bushes, flower beds. Made them look lots better.
After Daddy and Mary came from garden we took weiners and bacon and cheese along Scioto north of prospect for our supper. Then on road East of there and got some wild flowers to transplant. Home and so to bed.

Quite profitable, typing chain letters. Got some chocolate bars and a coke out of it. Bill has one now where the return is 24 1/2 pints of whiskey.
Walt came to the bus station to see me off. Brought a box of candy. We’ve been going together two years today. Bus man didn’t want to take my ticket I use it going the same way twice.
Things growing at home.

Well Bill finally hit on a dime Chain Letter. It’s about played out now. The idea is you send a dime to the top name, cross it off, add your own at the bottom and as it works up you’ll get $1,759.30 if everybody keeps it going. But there aren’t enough people.
Got two pair of hose and some panties at the Boston Store this evening.
Been drawing landscape and flowers this evening

Wally they met me at Godman’s with a rose to commemorate two years together.
In the evening we went to the band concert at Mirror Lake, on the campus. Stopped at a White Castle for hamburgers.
After we got home a fuse blew out. So instead of fixing it Davis’s said they’ll call the electric in the morning. That’s what they were paid for. So I went to bed in the dark.

Stopped at the Clear Silk shop tonight to get some hose. I never saw such slow clerks and they didn’t wait on customers by turn so I walked out.
Had an early bath and went to bed.
This morning when I opened my glasses case one lens was broken. I dropped them last night and I suppose that did it. Goodbye $5.
