Monday December 20th
Parsell’s office at 4 with Kass and Pete for final rundown on closing of sale of Hemmerly;s. Gave me corporate book to copy and letters for Kathi and David to be signed.

Sunday December 19th
Dave is 32! To Lowes and checked bought Mark 1 Levolor blinds. They are cordless (pull up and down) and not like the ones in brochure that had me worried.

Saturday December 18th
To Heritage Hall and tried to accession items I had taken in but couldn’t figure out Past Perfect[software]. Mailed bicycle trip to Dave and checked books at Maloney’s. Shopped at Sears and bought an 18” red velvet Santa. Black slacks and navy top at Sears. Venetian blinds delivered.

Friday December 17th
Made chili and had 2 Mary’s here for supper since Sissons wanted to deliver closet unit and daddy’s walnut drop leaf table about 4. So 2 Mary’s got in on that excitement. We had eggnog in front of fire in fireplace and watched them work.

Thursday December 16th
Royce cleaning. I filled entertainment center drawers with videos and cassette tapes. Gradually moving things back into living room. Copied Uncle Will’s bicycle trip in 1896 for Dave.

Wednesday December 15th
Nicholls furniture delivered sofa, loveseat, recliner and lamp table at 11 a.m. it looks so different! To Marion shopped at Aldi’s, Office Depot cashed $200 check and $30 dividend check at Marion Bank. Unloaded Goodwill stuff and got home just as Scott and Spike arrived to put on last set of shutters and fix leak in the closet. Then Alan and Matt Sisson came with entertainment center just as Kathi called. 6 doctors met with Bob from 9:30 to 5:30 Tuesday. Another appointment tomorrow. Alan and Matt assembled unit and it is gorgeous. Moved chair from bedroom back to TV room. Chatted until 6:30! I filled one drawer with cassettes and decorated new Christmas tree with lights already on it with Mary’s discarded jewelry. Bed at 9:30.

Tuesday December 14th
Carpet layers back at 9:30 a.m. and finished by 2:30. Moved furniture back into living room. Don Keil brought canned and frozen tomatoes- loaded stuff into station wagon full for Goodwill and swept the garage. Put longer pull chain on ceiling lamp in TV room and helped put books around table in living room. (See end papers for contents of diary the continuance of diary) Bill Hutchman to garden club and the garden club Christmas party at Pete and [illegible] Millers.

Monday December 12th 13th
To Korans on Clareton[sic] Street to pick up wallet. Wouldn’t take reward but I left a basket of candy. Carpet layer’s arrived at 10:30. Underlayment down by noon. After lunch “Boss” sick so they left furniture is on deck covered with plastic and rain predicted. Sorted two boxes of stuff from floor of photo closet. Tired. Ordered Venetian roll blinds at Lowe’s $500.

Sunday December 12th
Move more furniture out of living room and vacuumed TV room. To Marion and ordered Mark I Levolor blinds $500. Grocery shop and left my wallet in shopping cart. So couldn’t shop for block steaks. To Mary’s and we shared a TV dinner. Call from Robert Koran. He found my wallet.

Saturday December 11th
Ralph Hedges finished by painting deacon’s bench from front porch and papering around former kitchen doorway. Managed to put in 4 hours doing it at $17 an hour! Total bill $1,050. To Heritage Hall. Took inventory of books in resource center and in rats nest above the gift shop. Filled with empty boxes!. But also 700 courthouse books and lots of [illegible] only 57 1979 histories left. Keith Koehler and Richard Carey helped me move boxes around to make count. Stopped at Lynn Lovells to choose frame for Blennerhassett print. Really exhausted. Copied 40 pages of Uncle Will Sheneman’s bicycle trip for Dave Decker.
