Brooks & Jordans picked me up at 9:30 & we headed for Holmes County. No wonder Grandma Sheneman thought it so beautiful. It is! Rolling fields – 1850 houses, autumn colored woods. Lunch (dinner, really) at the Dutch House in Walnut Creek & the shopping at Slaback’s IGA where we ran into Burroughs Club members. Bought Christmas presents $20. Back through Knox Co. & strawberry pie at Blands.
Saw Marion shovel worked on Peabody coal fields along Rt. 523. Gorgeous peachy sunset sky & home about 8. Filed indexed names for history reprint.*
