Saturday February 18th 1933[ shorthand]
Up early. Baked nutbread, etc. Mary came at noon and we fixed my hair, etc. At 5 who came popping in but Bob Johnston. We three went for a drive. He stayed for supper and they went away & M. just got back in time to finish me. Bob H. and Bernard had come with me in my smock and no paint. Lil was with Bob and we got to the City Club about 8:45. Bernard was so courteous all evening. I danced with 3 other fellows. We took a ride afterwards and the car stopped. Bernard and I had to push the car.
