Friday, May 20, 1955
To school with David for Zoo Trip but had enough mothers so I went in to work. 7 corsages & 30 combination pots. Hot! To Columbus with Mary & Rocky at 5:00 to see Bess Stephan iris – our seedlings are better that we thought. Ate at “Flame” Delicious fish. Home at 10. David, Keith & Mike went to circus.

Thursday, May 19, 1955
In at 9:30 & made 20 combination pots & 5 corsages. To Swink’s at 2:00 plan Sue’s wedding June 18 – whee! Marge Deyson did my hair – Mary & Rocky here in iris when I got home & Mary Jordan & Marilee came & spent evening. Nice visit. To bed 11:00.

Wednesday, May 18, 1955
Mary Vernon, Bright Lights, Purissima, Sylvia Murray, Winter Carnival, Grace Mohr & loads of new seedlings*. In at 9 – corsages & combination pots – 1:00 – Day Camp meeting. 3:00 to Tiffin to pick up tents. Home thru Bucyrus. In for 2 wedding appointments. To Caledonia to pick up Kathy – Played in Band for Community Club. Forgot David – had to go back to Mary’s for him.

Tuesday, May 17, 1955
Down to 34 but didn’t have time to see if any damage before going in to make 10 corsages & 12 corsagettes. Took Dad Romine to cemetery & set out pink & purple petunias. Marker is in. Tood Dad Romine to Rocky’s & garden to see iris. Wedding appointment at 6:00. Kathy permanent from Helen Leonard. Visited with Mary & Rocky.

Monday, May 16, 1955
Mrs. Deyson out to help me clean. Phyllis Kile home from school with Kathy & ironed slipcovers. 36 here for Burroughs Club picnic – ate on terrace, food in garage. Meeting upstairs. White iris seedlings are super.

Sunday, May 15, 1955
In at 8 with David & Mike Leonard (to Sunday School) to do Finley-Baldauf wedding – over $100. Home at 4:30 with Mother & Daddy, Fanny & Floy Baker for picnic supper. Paris & Dad Romine here fishing. Mowed all of high lawn by hand after dark.

Saturday, May 14, 1955
In with kids at 9 dropping David off for haircut. Made about 30 corsages for LaRue & Morrall Proms. Kathy helped. Brought Mike Leonard home with us & went to Caledonia Senior Play “Melody Madhouse”. Rocky’s iris blooming a lot – only a few seedlings here & Dymia & Junaluska. Bed at 11:00.

Friday, May 13, 1955
Mrs. Carl Brocklesby over to buy plants. In to do some corsages before meeting Mrs. J. O. Easterbrook from Cleveland at Hotel Harding. She gave wonderul arrangements to fit our June schedule. Home at 5:15 & took Kathy to school for her 8th grade picnic. Set out Geraniums, coleus, begonias & mowed by river. David & I visited & I wrote checks.

Thursday, May 12, 1955
Planted Scotch Broom & Red Rich Strawberries before going in. Daddy out & mowed lawn. Made bokays for New Bloomington May Festival & corsages – Grocery shopped – home at 6:00 – set out Prima Donna petunias & redid terrace beside greenhouse. Luna moth on house. 2 [iris] seedlings blooming. Baked cupcakes.

Wednesday, May 11, 1955
Mrs. Clark brought dress to use for Juliette Low skit tonight & Volraths finished wedding order. Transplanted cleosia & dwarf dahlias & sowed nasturtium & alyssum seed. In at 4:30 for 3 wedding appointments – made centerpiece for Council meeting. Gave talk on Juliette Low. Home at 10:30 – ironed till 1:00.
