Tuesday, June 28, 1955
Beth Hanning, Kathy & I hit high spots cleaning house. They bike riding AM & on bikes to Kiles in PM. Me to town for wedding appointment – Scout conference, shopping. Home 6 supper. Dug out iris & weeds. Jap iris that Ray go from Rueben Smith is blooming. Got news sheet ready for Day Camp.

Monday, June 27, 1955
Off at 8:30 for Day Camp*. Short staff so some units have 24 – 175 in camp. I chopped poison ivy out of one units latrine. Beth home with us. Mowed after supper and forgot Girl Scout Board Meeting. Mother & Daddy out. Wrote letter to David which they mailed. I’m poohed!

Sunday, June 26, 1955
Took David in to Mary’s at 7:45 & she took him to bus for Camp*. Kathy & Mrs. Deyson worked with me on weddings and with Mary’s help on churches (3 to decorate) were all set in good time. Paid Daddy for Apr, May & June over $500. Wored on Day Camp from Girl Scout office. Kathy to MYF. Phyllis Kile here for night.

[Mary Rockwell’s job at Tecumseh Products allowed her to let one of her relatives attend camp at Sand Lake, Michigan, near Adrian. This camp was attended mostly by union family children from Detroit, and there were some pretty tough kids there – David didn’t have a good time!]

Saturday, June 25, 1955
Clocks all stopped for 1 1/2 hrs so I almost missed delivering 9:00 AM wedding. Marilee & Kathy helping all day. Got Bev Holloway straightened out for Day Camp. Took kids to see “Davy Crockett”. Home & packed David for Camp. Ironed Aisle cloth & made bows for tomorrow. Bed 12:30.

Friday, June 24, 1955
Set out Zinnia plants (Blaze) & straw mulched. In at 11 David to dentist. Did 3 small appointments in P.M. – Mother & Daddy to Troy & Columbus. After supper mowed with new Toro! Nice & I can start it! Ironed & TV. Bed 11:30.

Thursday, June 23, 1955
At site training with 15 staff & 2 girls (CJT.) Kathy wonderful help. Went pretty smooth between showers. To shop afterwards & got bills out on all weddings past. Stopped at Hutchman’s new house. Picked up David at Browns. TV & popcorn. Daddy got me 18″ Toro rotary mower.

Wednesday, June 22, 1955
Daddy & Mother out bringing Kathy’s bike. Worked on lashing stuff. Mowed with rotary in bottom. Mary & Rocky out with their vacation plans & wanting us to go. Checked day camp scupplies & planned for tomorrow. Keith Brown staying yet tonight. Bed 1:30

Tuesday, June 21, 1955
Day Camp Training here for Mary Douce & Helen Brocklesby. Mary Kay Stone helping. In at 1:30 for wedding appointment & then shopping. Kathy bought Hercules English bike with shop money she’s earned. Keith Brown home with us. Boat got loose but kids got it. Mary Kay Stone here with Day Camp stuff.

Monday, June 20, 1955
Cleaned at David’s room all morning. Mrs. Deyson here from 1 to 6 & got first floor pretty well done. Launched our boat. Kids to Kiles swimming. Picked them up at 5 & in for 2 wedding appointments. Supper at folks. Kathy & I got hair cut short by Helen Leonard. Home & cleaned garage & mowed lawn.
