Saturday, August 6, 1955
Left cabin at 7:00 & took new road to Sudbury thru Britt. Sudbury at 10:45. Watched Centennial parade at Sault Ste. Mare in downpour. Cabin at Newberry, Michigan & watched city dump with 17 other cars for bears – but only rats.

Friday, August 5, 1955
Did a washing but it rained & had a time drying it. Had quite a chat with our German neighbors. Living in Toronto. Been here 3 yrs. Faser’s over for evening. Had popcorn.

Thursday, August 4, 1955
David & I rowed up Shadow River while others went to Parry Sound. Collected driftwood. Rained PM. Betty’s for supper & then on tour to take pictures of Alan’s fireplaces. Had snack at Minette. Home at 12:30.

Wednesday, August 3, 1955
David & I rowed up to Crow’s Nest Bay (Fraser’s new land) while Mary & Rocky & Kathy started for Parry Sound. (Instead they went to Turtle & Star Lake, swimming.) Frasers at our cabin for supper & then we showed slides.

Tuesday, August 2, 1955
Shopped at Campells general store & then to Frasers boat dock & got rowboat. Swimming David & his “snorkel” is something. With Betty & Allan & kids took ride. Saw their lake frontage & stopped at Lady Eaton’s summer home.

Monday, August 1, 1955
Good easy trip to Rosseau via Owen Sound. Cabin adequate with ancient “Fridge”. To Square Dance & raffle & David won a spinning reel and rod – value $27. Home about 1:30.

Sunday, July 31, 1955
Got O’Hara wedding done by 2:00 & left with Mary & Rocky & Kathy & David on vacation. Slept S. of Port Huron.

[headed to Rosseau, Ontario to visit Betty & Alan Fraser – Betty was Mary Hemmerly Rockwell’s Army buddy in WWII]

Saturday, July 30, 1955
In at 9 to do 3 weddings. Took order for another for Aug 7. That’s 5 I’m leaving them with! Home & finished odds & ends of packing. Bed 12:00 Dead.
Kids home all day. Kathy baked cookies & redd up house. David to Booby Cover’s birthday party.

Keith Radebaugh out to spend day. Good rain the AM. More washing & ironing. Mary & Carroll Lockwood brought Bells of Ireland.
