Monday, September 5, 1955 Labor Day
Went in & worked till 1 then daddy came out & helped me plant grass seed. Milan over for warblers & I went down too for about 20 minutes saw several. To Mary Jordan’s for dinner. Her garden is lovely. Gave us apples & pears.

Sunday, September 4, 1955
Up to take Kathy & Mrs. Boger to Sunday School but back to bed until 2:30. Paris & Helen, Mary & Rocky & Vivian Adams out for corn roast & hamburg fry. Nice time. Alice & Milan Gorby stoppedl for minute on way home from Ada.

Saturday, September 3, 1955
In at 7 to finish wedding. Shopped with Kathy for school. New grey skirt & woolen white middy blouse. Home about 4 & right to bed worn out & headache. Up for popcorn but couldn’t stay up. Vivian Adams at Mary’s for weekend.

Friday, September 2, 1955
Worked! Spaded & raked under beech for grass & moved ties along bank. Daddy out at 2:30 with tractor & tore up paths in garden & along driveway on garage side. Hauled stone on driveway. In tonight to work on Garston wedding.

Thursday, September 1, 1955
Worked on front and side walks – relaying. Hauled stone on driveway. Helen Brocklesby brought census & family down to see butterfly collection. Fanny & Mary Baker, Mary & Joan Beck & Carey, Mother & Daddy for supper. 70 cool 55 low.

Wednesday, August 31, 1955
Widened driveway & laid up walls along edges. In with David to dentist. Mother & Daddy & Mary & Rocky out for supper. Ate in living room. Nice. Pictures. Birthday cake for Mother & Daddy.*

[*had missed Ivaloo’s August 9, 1890 birthday while in Canada – Ray Hemmerly’s birthday was next day, September 1, 1891.)

Tuesday, August 30, 1955
Burroughs Club (11 of us & David) to Lake Erie for day. Castalia, Route 2, Marblehead Quarry, East Harbor & Magee Marsh. Loads ducks, mostly mallards. Got peaches, pears & melons.

Monday, August 29, 1955
Took chickens to Cardington for Thelma Brocklesby. I got 4 – cost me $2.80 including having them dressed. Painted bathroom cupboards black. Took Erma Clark home & picked up chickens & took them to Brocklesby’s.

Sunday, August 28, 1955
Did Ward Klingel wedding & home about 3:00. Loren & Robin Baker out to aske me to do talk in December. Burned brush by river. TV tonight.

Saturday, August 27, 1955
In at 7 to do Thiel-Whaley wedding. Jackie halped & went to church & country club with me. Home at 3:00 & pitched in on house to get ready for Carl & Esther Rieger & Mother & Daddy who came out for corn roast & hamburg fry. Used new grill.
