Sunday, September 25, 1955
Mike Leonard & David to Sunday School & them & me to church at Memorial Methodist. My first time. At 2 – Bob & Dwight Hill, Bob Swisher, Don Jerew & Pat Esterline over for big Paw Paw Hunt. All here for hamburg supper. Alice Haldeman & Norman Haldeman’s wife & kids stopped.

Saturday, September 24, 1955
Kids stayed home – me in to do Faulkner wedding. Picked Mike Leonard up at Leonards. Here for night.

Friday, September 23, 1955
Wonderful soaking rain all day. Cleaned Kathy’s & my closets & sorted clothes.

Thursday, September 22, 1955
Dental appointment at 9 – 2 fillings & cleaned. All fixed up for now. At shope doing odds & ends. Sent bulb order to Grotendorfs. Kathy at Phyllis Kile’s for night. David & I TV’d.
Watered some of new sown grass & front lawn.

Wednesday, September 21, 1955
Played! Gathered seed pods, etc. for dried arrangements. Glycerinined some foliage & some flowers put in borax.

Tuesday, September 20, 1955
Mrs. Bessie Wendling out to return spoons. Erma Hutchman & Mrs. Fox at 11:00 & we went to Kingwood – Ohio Association of Garden Clubs. Carl Starker arranging. Good. To Community Club. Mildred Gorby in stew about Scouts.

Monday, September 19, 1955
Got over whole house upstairs. Burroughs Club Buffet supper here at 6:00. 38 here. Wonderful weather but dry. David made report on feeding mallards & trying to organize Jr. Nature Club.

Sunday, September 18, 1955
To Akron – Mother & Daddy, Mary, Rocky, David & I. Dinner at Wadsworth. Visited Hazel & then over to Doris’. Out to Wilda’s but only Bonnie home. Back home about 8:30.

Saturday, September 17, 1955
Saw male rose breasted grosbeak in big elm top, In at 7:30 to finish Dennis wedding & then to Young. Lunch at Highway Hotel with P. Kramer & V. Wolganest [sic?] to interview Wilda Cunningham for Girl Scout Field Director. Kathy date with Bob Swisher. Lunch* here afterwards.

[*Trella used lunch to mean the size of the meal, regardless of the time of the day]

Friday, September 16, 1955
In about 11:00 – Got lunch for daddy & started work on Dennis wedding for Saturday about 3:00. Kids in with Mr. Johnson* & I took David to dentist & got a $5 table lamp for his room. Kathy & I home about 7:00. David at Leonards all night. Mowed lawn. Varnished front porch & new window.

[*William Johnson, English and Social Studies teacher at Caledonia School. Kathy & David would often ride in to Marion with teachers from Caledonia School]
